Remarks

It was a good college with good infrastructure and facilities. Only thing missing was campus placement.

Entrance Preview

I gave CAT entrance exam and I chose electronics stream based on the marks I scored. I had Ooption of choosing electrical but went ahead with electronics because it is better for IT interviews

Course Curriculum Overview

It was on the tougher side because of practical examinations. And internal marks were never so good so had to score in thoery only. Network theory, mathematics graphics and data structures were some difficult subjects.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship at that time. I am a 2010 pass out and struggled to find a job as they did not have placement in our college. So forget about internship and stipend.

Placement Experience

They hardly had any campus placement. I remember small scale companies coming and also HCL had come but they wanted us to pay 2.5 Lakh for training in noida. Most of guys were at home for a long time and got placed much later thru outside sources.

College Events

We had some good technical events like inter college events. Also there was annual event every year. And also there used to be musical events where bands used to perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was alright better than other colleges. During my time every year fees was increased by 5000 rs almost but was not too expensive. During my first year fees was bout 36k which was manageable. It was a new college so now you need to check fees

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any scholarships offered by my college but I had taken a student loan from bank which you can start repaying once you get a job.

Campus Life

There were many extra curricular activities for musicians and singers. Also lots of opportunities for dancers. Gender ratio was not bad. There were lots of technical competitions too. We had been to inter college events and competitions too

Hostel Facilities

I was not a part of hostel as I have my own house in Pune but as far as I can tell you the hostel was alright. It was not very costly as it was just a normal hostel. Quality and facilities were alright.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

I am not in touch with any senior students. There is an alumni network and they conduct get together sometimes. Probably once in a year or once in two years for all the old students to meet each other

Exam Structure

Exams were under university of Pune so common schedule. Labs were frequent. Daily practicals used to be conducted and they were little hectic because of electronics syllabus.

Faculty

They were not very supportive in giving us good marks in internal exams due to which we suffered. We had to score in theory so that our percentage was not affected. also there was no campus placement in our college.

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam.
