My College

There are positives and negatives. Positives are everyone can be friendly. Negatives are we don't have any value there, I mean, our voice. Everything is done by the management. The good profeesors have left the college by the time I reached fourth year.

It was based on the MGU curriculum. However, it has been replaced with KTU in whole Kerala. We had exams every now and then. The board every semester. Now it has changed to board exams every year, I guess.

There happens placement drives and all. However, the internship was part of our syllabus and we won't get stipend for that. We do have interviews and drives. We can participate. From first year onwards, then kind of prepare us for the placements.

There will be Tech Fests were students from almost all the college's nearby takes part. There will be lots of good events planned on the day. The Arts day is a day of great fun if the profeesors didn't interfere with us.

Fees is based on merit. We get a great deduction if we have scored high in our 12th class. I had to pay almost 1 Lakh including all the payments like library, store, etc. per semester. There were students who only paid 20000.

People used to take education loans from banks. One of my friends got the scholarship as she scored 90% in her 12th. The actual fees is about 2lakhs. But she got the scholarship and used to pay only 20000 fees.

We do have annual sports meet, women's day, etc. Girls used to stay back and celebrate women's day. Students can perform their abilities. We have farewell party and graduation day every year. There were no party type of celebrations. But, after I graduated, I see there is Valentine's day celebration.

I stayed in a hostel. It was either three sharing or two sharing for everyone. There was a system called dividing system were all the students who stayed that month will give the rent which is calculated by dividing the month's expenses by number of people. For hostelers, bus facility was completely free.

Yeah, seniors do not rag that much. So, any new comer can go peacefully. When I first went, I was really scared. But it was nothing. Seniors can be very friendly. They can be a best friend sometimes. The Juniors used to host the farewell party for the seniors.

I got the admission due to merit. The people over there were very friendly to me. They made me join the college actually. I saw there are a lots of great profeesors and assistant profeesors. My family friends told me it's a good college.

When I joined, the profeesors and assistant profeesors were really nice. Our principal was Mr. Gracious and he was the best principal we ever had. He was so dedicated and he had knowledge about everything. Next principal was not so nice. The asst profeesors we had there were mostly rank holders.
