All about Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Bhubaneshwar

KIIT is a great place to mould your career in a right a way as it provides you with ample opportunities and this was recognized even by Ministry of Human Resource Department as it was given the title of Institute Of Eminence which only a few(7-8) have across the country.

The course curriculum is always up to date and at par with the elite institutions like the IIT's And NIT's and it is based on the continuous evaluation system and hence almost each and every day there is some or the other thing happening. The labs are also top notch with all the latest machinery and if keen any body is welcome for research regardless of your branch and year. There are two written exams for theory papers in a semester i.e mid sem and end sem. Mid sem is of 20 marks and end sem of 50 marks which totals to 70 and the rest 30 marks are internals for which you are evaluated throughout the semester on different things such as Quiz, presentations, group assignments etc. Labs could be exhausting but are definitely the most interesting part of the day as you get to know and do new things.

Theres is a 100% placement record in our college and a huge number of companies visit our campus every year for recruitment. Yes the college does provide internship opportunities although one may or may not get any kind of stipend as that is completely dependent on the employer.

There are a large number of events happening round the year. There are academic activities, workshops, Cultural activities etc. KIITFEST is the annual fest which generally lasts for 3-4 days and have more than 100 activities to do in the day time followed by star night in the evening where famous personalities come and perform. This time is the favourite time for any student of KIIT and the KIITFEST is claimed to be one of the best Fest in East India.

It's on the expensive side and is increasing every year. The fees is 3.5 lakhs per year exclusive of hostel and mess facilities for the 2019 admitted batch for My course that is Bachelor of technology (B.tech) The fees has to be paid in 2 parts that is every semester.

At the time of admission you would be given a draft for availing education loan and you can use that if you want to avail an educational loan. And if you have achieved an all India rank of less than 1000 in the entrance exam then you would be given a scholarship by the college itself.

The sports facilities are excellent. There are a number of student societies of different things from robotics to debate to dancing, singing etc. There is no discrimination against any one on any ground.

There are various types of room and the cost vary accordingly:- 1) 3 Bed Non-AC- Rs60000 Annually 2) 2 Bed Non-AC- Rs 80000 Annually 3) 3 Bed AC- Rs 100000 Annually 4) Two Bed AC- Rs 140000 Annually Only 2 Bed AC rooms have attached Washroom other all rooms have common washroom. The hostel rooms are in a good condition and maintained. The meals are not included in this pricing and you have to pay 35000 per year for that regardless of your room type.

The seniors are very helpful and they are more than happy to give advice to their juniors and help them. Although so far I haven't got any opportunity to interact with any of the alumni of my college.

To get admission in this college one has to appear in it's entrace examination i.e KIITEE. One will get a unique All India Rank after the results are declared and then he/she has to follow the official website for further updates i.e date of counselling and on that particular date he/she has to come to the campus and appear in the counselling process which would include verification of documents and Branch allotment according to your rank.

I would say the faculties are not bad but also not the best. Though there are some of the best profeesors of the country teaching here. For eg DR SKS PARASHAR Any one can Google him and find what a pioneer he is.
