Remarks

College is good everything is fine but reservation system should be removed also marks should be allotted.

Entrance Preview

JKCET this was the only option in kashmir we had SKIMS and GMC so we have no other option for MBBS thats why we opt for these two only.

Internships Opportunities

I am a new student so i cant say about it all. Its a medical college so obviously no company comes for the job your job depends on M.D. however you are paid during internship.

Placement Experience

Placement is not good because of the low marks being allotted job opportunities depends on same doctor can have private practice so that makes up for govt job.

College Events

I haven't celebrated any festival yet just the freshers party i dont know anything about it they might be having festivals. They have India tour etc so thats beneficial.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is great only ten thousand anyone can pay that but its tough to get the admission so pay structure is fine ten thousand is not a big deal.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well yes scholarships are available like prime ministers scholarship ec but ten thousand is not much so rarely anyone opts for that i havent opted for any.

Its a MBBS college so you wont expect any robotics etc. Debates are held and there are more girls than boys gender equality is there but injustice with general category.

Hostel Facilities

I havent opted for hostel so i dont know hostels and mess are never upto marks in all colleges i dont know about it at all Its maybe good just dont know about it.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

All is fine just remove the system of reservation its suppresses brialliant students of general category its an unfair means to give reservations to some students.

Exam Structure

Exam structure of MBBS is same its just like all other colleges. MBBS exams are always hectic you have to study a lot and you still get low marks.

Faculty

Faculty is good though its just the beginning but they dont alot you proper marks they always give you less than expected. That factors costs you in future otherwise everything is fine.

Prestigious college

Likes

Clinical studies are better than other colleges
Present in in good location where you can afford anything
Srinagar city best for picnic adventure....you can plan and enjoy....

Dislikes

No event..fest are take place rather seminarsare done
In the 1st year for boys ... accomodation in hostel in not present you have to wait for 1 year
If you are from outside from Srinagar you will cry for you local food

If you have you dream to become a good doctor...come here and get you dream fulfilled ...this college do everything possible that helps you make you a good doctor and in clinical postings this help you to prepare for real world applications

ASCOMS - Boon or Bane ?

Likes

The teaching style and the organization of the first year academics.
The PG selection ratio in the college is high above the other colleges of the state .
The affordability over other private colleges. Being a private college the fee charges are still less than expected

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not upto the mark .
The college does discriminate on basis of your identity.
Some kind of nepotism also exists and that messes up the environment

Course Curriculum Overview:

Yes it's pretty relevant they follow the new CBME issued by the NMC and it's in line with the PG syallabus and entrance exams as well . What they could change though is the teaching methods and how to be more interactive with students

Dislikes

Teaching using ppt is not good it's better to make things understand better by explaining in simple.language

Course Curriculum Overview:

I Chose MBBS by my choice The more the practical and clinicals u perform the better u understand things rather than books . Real life experience is important I think what should be improved is that focus should be more on things that are more important for being a doctor. More towards clinical aspects more towards practical performance and less on things needed to cram Timing for exam of 80 mark is 3 hrs and is quite good enough time. 20 marks are of mcqs so total 100 mark.

Social interaction are less and not any trip from side college
Our compus not Fully developed so many problems face

Campus Life at GMC Jammu

Likes

Best college in the state to study medicine
Faculty is highly qualified and experienced
Maximum patient load in any hospital in jammu division

Dislikes

The campus is too small for the best medical college in j&k
Student number is much higher than the lecture hall capacity
College campus is in a highly dense and congested area in the old Jammu city

Studying medicine is indeed one of the most difficult course to pursue as an undergraduate. The new CBME pattern have made it clear for the ug students to have knowledge of certain core competencies and some extra optional competencies Exams are indeed difficult and for pg enternce to revise 19 subjects is a big task

Gmc jammu review

Likes

The friendly environment. The good friends that i made.
The patient exposure is also very good..
The campus is very big and students have enough time for enjoyment

Dislikes

Tere is not enough greenery in the campus
The parking spaces are also not good....
Sometimes there may not be adequate working facilities.

I wantes to become a doctor. Faculty ratio was not good for years ago but now there arw more available pgs. All the faculty are either mbbs graduates or MDs. Term exams were always on time and they were quote challanging but passable of we studied properly

College with good values

Admission:

You just have to appear for the neet examination. And once you get selected you ll be able get an admission in the college. The syllabus for neet xam is class 11 and 12. One should be able to score above 500 out of 720.

Very nice college for medical studies

Remarks:

Postive - our college provides the best faculty and educators. The best learning experience and learning facility is jammu is from our college Negative - there is less patient load than govt hospital and sporting facilities are also less.

For getting a seat in any medical institute in India, you have to clear the national eligibility entrance examination(neet ug). Government medical college Srinagar is the top medical college in Jammu and Kashmir ut. To obtain admission to government college Srinagar you need a very good score in neet ug. There are a total of 180 seats in gmc srinagar, out of which 50% I.E 90 seats are reserved for girls out of which 63 are reserved for categories like st, sc,obc, rba, pwd, jkpm, cdp, etc. Out of 90 seats for boys, 62 seats are reserved for different categories like st, sc, obc, pwd,jkpm,cdp, etc and the remaining seats are for open merit students.
