Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum could have been lean & Labs should have played a bigger part than it actually did. Hectic nature of the course is due to the fact that curriculum is so wide spread that it acts as a distraction towards your career goals

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement opportunities were ok compared to other regional colleges but need to do much more than that, should be setting benchmarks & should not be content with average. If bars are not raised then the roofs will fall.

College Events

Multiple cultural events related to regional activities. Then there were few technical events highlighting achievements of the students. Participation is quite good & students are eager to take part in these fests.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms were ok, but could have used better ventilation. Food is the biggest challenge, quality was sacrificed over quantity. Rooms & food did not deserve the amount that was asked of them. Hopefully since I left it got better.

Admission

Keen interests in computers led to the choice of BTech in IT

Should have been more mature in their choices. Newly hired teachers were not sure of the curriculum & how to tackle it successfully. Delays become normal after a while for them which adversely affects students life.

Brief About NITJ

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in their final year (7th semester). only a few companies made no offers. I can recall only 1 name Nation with NAMO. highest package in Civil branch was 14LPA. Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.

True experience of a SLIET Student

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in Robotics and my parents wanted me to take a core branch. The curriculum is not very relevant but some topics are good and related like modern welding technologies and manufacturing techniques. I think our college curriculum needs to be updated where more new world technologies like AR and VRs should be taught with advance robotics. Teaching methods used are classical I think professors should try to use smart classrooms to visualise the concept to make it better understandable. Exams are moderate level but I think our college needs to reduce exam frequency although we have time but due to exams nearly every month it doesn't feel good.

Good but jot enough

The admission process was quite easy , I had to visit the college with my 10-12 DMC and some personal identity verification photostat and 7 pictures of mine and the advance after they admit in their college was 10,000 and later when the session begin they took a clear fee of 45000 approx. The reservation benefits were not that much but the seats were ofcourse booked by the students before as they paid before for it. There is nothing like an extrance exam but is a scholarship test conducted on-line for locals to get some ressieson mentioned above. It is a noce easy experience tho....Read More
