Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very good.It has true potential to bring out the best in you. There have been many latest developments and the laboratories are well equipped now. The exam structure is also very good and regular internals are also taken.

The placement cell of the college is very good They organises many workshop and seminars, webinars so that you get placed.The curriculum is very professionally oriented and they prepare against all the odds .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college is very nominal and there are hostel facilities and good infrastructure.The hostel fees is around 3,800 .The fees is one of the major things that attracts students all around the globe.

Campus Life

The college is full of hustle and bustle all around the year.There are cultural fests,tecnical fests,debates,and many other entertaining events.Many social awareness programs are also organised to create awareness among the society.

Documents for Admission:- a) Admit Card & Mark sheet (Class X + XII) b) 5 nos. Stamp Size & 5 nos. Passport size colour Photo c) Migration Certificate (Other States except West Bengal) d) Cast Certificate for SC, ST & OBC candidates. The admission is based directly on merit and your higher secondary examination marks.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is very good and supportive.They act as an cushion in this outside world full of obstacles and riddles. The best part about them is that they are not partial and try to help you out in many situations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.
