Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Bachelor of Sociology is a three years course which is on consecutive basis and it includes an outlook on the problems, issues of the society and how to solve them and come up with better solutions. The exam structure is semester basis.

Placement Experience

4

Most of the course are general courses which doesn't assure one with a job after the completion of the course after three years. So in Bachelor courses, our college doesn't provide any placements or job opportunities. Students need to find jobs on their own or can go for the option of pursuing higher studies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For all the general courses, that is the Bachelor courses of Arts, have the same fee structure. Admission fee, which is actually the first year fee, amounts to Rs.6,160/-. The second year fee is Rs.5,130/- and the last year fee is less, which is Rs.3,550/-. All the three years fee sums up to Rs.14,840/-. It is very much affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. The college provides scholarships. Scholarship opportunities such as the fees that is submitted, is refunded when a student is eligible and selected for GMFKR scholarship. In this scholarship, the whole fees is refunded to the bank account from which it is dedudcted at the time of admission. Certain eligibility criteria needs to be fulfilled though.

Campus Life

4.5

Computer laboratories are present which are essential. Competitions are held within the campus to boost up the energy of the students. Inter college fest take place every year. Students participates in them.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is not available in our college which comes as a drawback in the infrastructure. However, nearby pgs are available at a very low price. And canteen is available within the campus. So, one can get food.

Admission

For admission to any Bachelor course, the marks scored in 10+2 examination is taken into consideration and the marks scored in 10th examination is checked once. According to the marks scored in 10+2 examination, students are shortlisted and admitted to the college.

Faculty

5

English and Economics departments are the best in our college and it has the best faculty members. This doesn't mean that the other departments are bad. Rest of the departments also have good faculty members. Notes and lectures are provided and attendance is very important as it is checked.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm currently persuing BA(hons) Geography from Faculty of Arts. I had interest in geography since class 10. Therefore, I chosen this course. Curriculum doesn't prepare us, we have to prepare ourselves. My suggestion would be that some more younger professors need to be there. Exams are generally easy and their cycle is also good

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.
