Remarks

Good- Communication is really great between students and authorities. Bad- Give students a little more freedom in terms of campus in time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The best thing about BITS is the curriculum is really research-driven and it provides a lot of insights into how an industry functions. The professors are really engaging during lectures and this is the most important things about a college. Examples, Case studies, projects, research work are a part of the day to day routine of students. BITS really works you up when it comes to the courses. I believe these things really shape you up as a professional.

Placement Experience

4

I haven’t availed any internship but BITS has a great system of Practice Schools(PS). This includes 2 summers(PS1 and PS2) of working in an industry and it helps the students to gain insights into the workings of an industry. You can only avail PS2 if and only if you have availed PS1, this is the rule most students hate. You get the company based on your CGPA. People get opportunities they wouldn’t get without this programme. Placements took a hit last year, as the average package for our course was just 8.2 Lacs/Annum that's low for the BITSian Standards. The Placement has geared up for this year and is holding many workshops, profile building events, companies coming in for internships etc. Placements from BITS has never been an issue and our PU will make sure of this(Hopefully:)

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bits expensive but you will not be disappointed once you experience the peer group and environment of this college. Caution Money (One Time, Refundable) ?3,000 One Time Fees ?39,800 Tuition Fee (per Semester) ?1,78,000 Other Advances (per Semester) ?12,000 Annual Fees ?675 Total ?2,33,475

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I haven't any scholarship or education loan but many banks will roll you out an education loan just seeing your BITS degree. There are two types of scholarships offered at BITS Pilani: 1. Merit scholarship: Based on your CGPA in the current semester. Around 10(per batch) people get 100% off and another 10(per batch) get 40% off on tuition fee. This semester’s cut-off was 9. 2. Merit cum Need scholarship: Again based on your CGPA but also has the condition that your parents' annual income should be less than 10 LPA. Any CGPA above 7 gets you a scholarship, but the more your CGPA, more the scholarship.

Campus Life

5

College life is amazing in BITS. I would like to list out it in points and will give you a routine which most BITSian follows. 1. You wake up and god knows how :) 2. Go to classes, lay down in the classes and sleep or play some mobile games till the bell rings. 3. You come back, have your snacks 4. Have dinner but believe me you will go to All Night Canteen(ANC) 5. We play games like COD/GTA/DOTA/CS. 6. You can watch a series, movies or anything which can be easily procured by the help of DC++, it’s a hub where people from BITS Pilani upload their downloaded content and you can watch it anytime. 7. If you feel like grabbing a snack between classes and mess meals Redi’s (small eateries) is the place to go. 8. You can have movie nights, binge-watching nights. 9. There’s a TV in Common Room where we gather to watch Cricket and Football. 10. Wake up again in the morning to do the same exact things but with a different experience every day. I guess I’ve made my point that the college life in BITS is pretty chill and you can have fun too while managing your academics. The gender ratio here is terrible its 1:10, Boys: Girls. There are CLubs, Departments for every interest of yours whether it’s Designing, Art, Painting, Robotics, Entrepreneurship, Debating, MUNs, Stock Trading, Social Service and whatnot. These Clubs/Depts will train you in these areas. It’s the 7 major depts. That manage all the fests of BITS.

Hostel Facilities

5

Yes, you have to opt for hostels unless you are a day scholar. Hostels are well structured and cleanliness is maintained. But you can’t find a clean room of an undergrad in world’s any college. But it includes amenities like 24-hour unlimited WiFi, hot geysers, water coolers, a common room where you can hang out with you batches and a TT table. The common room also have a Television

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors- These are the people who will shape you up during your college tenure and will help you the most. You can go ask their help at any time and of course, they are the one common source for treats. Alumni- BITS has a really great alumni network. There are organisations like BITS Alumni Association (BITSAA) and Facebook groups like “BITSians for each other” people on this group will help you even after you are long gone from the college and graduated.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty here is really great and they deliver lectures in the best possible way and slides they prepare for helping students understand, are really impressive and support us during our exam times. All of the lecturers are a minimum PhD and they are involved in awesome research work. They have also set aside chamber consultation hours for students for various doubts of the curriculum. Most of them have industry certifications. But as you know not all professors can prevent student sleeping in classes, I guess it’s a part of college life :)

For Master's students, they can start appearing for placement as soon as starting their 2nd Semester. There are lots of opportunities for students to grab a good placement. The average package for Master's can be 6-8LPA while the highest placement last year was 54LPA

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.

The campus placement commity is good, there is a dedicated department for campus placement for students depending upon the course you chose if you take Btech, Mtech or MCA its good but if you take M.Sc you have to struggle for placement and even if you get placement you hace to struggle with the package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is updated and is on par with central universities. The curriculum is relevant if you want to make your career in research. More distinct and relevant additional electives could be incorporated into the curriculum as some aren't as relevant as they used to be.
