Remarks

Positive remark about the college is the staff of mechanical department is very spportive; both teaching and lab staffs. But some staffs from other departments have some ego problem over the students of mechanical departments.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I followed the curricculum of Kannur University and our batch was the last batch following the Kannur University and all our juniors following then newly formed APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University or simply KTU. Exams and the results were very delayed by the University authorities and those who kept some back papers has suffered a lot and lost their years as if soke exams were lagged by 8-10 months Labs and other facilities were good and we enjoyed our college life well not as if at other arts colleges but just like how an engineering student can enjoy for maximum

Placement Experience

0.5

Our college didn't assure placement but provides placement assistance. And not for all. The placement cell was very active in the year I joined the college(2014) and then it became almost inactive after an year when one of its faculty left the college.

College Events

3

Our college celebrates all the national days as well as other special programs. We do celebrate Republic day, Independence day, Gandhi Jayanthi as well as Onam celebrations New Year celebrations, college day, arts day and department wise association programs(there was a plan to do all the association program as tech fest), sports day etcetra.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is as per the government rule and they cannot change it but apart from the course fee of 75000 I did have many other fees such as transportation fee(bus fee), registration fee, exam fee, celebration fee and may others and we could say it would be about 1 lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college did not provide any special scholarships but the students can apply for the government scholarships as the institution is recognized by the government. It includes scholarships from the ministry of minority(moma), post metric scholarship etcetra.

Campus Life

2.5

Extracurricular activities do have support but not as if for studies. Football, cricket, volleyball and athletics are those sports that is conducted at the college and we participate in the inter collegiate programs. We were despaired and not even a staff accompanied us when our football team team participated in the all kerala engineers trophy conducted government engineering college kannur. And after that we were recognised by the college as if we became first runnerup of the tournament in which was the goal keeper.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I was a day scholar but I have used the college hostel facility for a week and i would say it was good. Rooms being shared by 3 or 4 and having two bathouroom cum toilets per room both attached to the room.

Alumni/Alumna

There are plans for alumni association and its program but it did not start till now. As our college is very young of just 5 batches are passed out and the 6th batch will pass out this april, the association formation is delayed. One of its main reasin is that 75% of the alumnis are not settled well and the 90% of the remaining 25% is working abroad.

Admission

I wrote kerala engineering and medical entrance eaxamination(KEAM) and after several procedures I was alloted to College of Engineering and technology Payyanur for Btech Mechanical Engineering in the trial allotment and in the first allotment, I was alloted in merit in a college at perumbavoor for Btechin Aeronautical Engineering which was the highly prefered by me in the allotment procedures(although it was by mistake) but i took my admission in my college, CET Payyanur as if its 20kms from my home and can be a day scholar and not a hosteller

Faculty

2

College do have a faculties of a mixture of well experienced, very freshers and their intermediates in the teaching and non-teaching fields. The lab staffs are very supportive and helpful who try their best to make us, the students, the best excluding one or two among them. Teaching staffs like associate and assistant proffessors are a mixture of experienced and freshers and it reflects in their teaching.

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
