Remarks

Our university is *A* graded and highly reputed university in Karnataka with good academics and infrastructure. Healthy campus in city outskirts, good and experienced teaching faculty and quality. But lack of placements and government travel facilities a major worry for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Each semester has unique and well build syllabus to train them for their future studies on research. Both dry and wet labs are equiped with good instrumentations and bioinformatic studies were trained in proper manner.

Placement Experience

1

Lack of placements and internship is also a major concern but students are well trained with lab techniques which helps to acquire jobs in various industries. After completing our Msc we can go for internship provided by other sources but in our college theirs no such infrastructure

College Events

3

In our university we celebrate both cultural and extra curricular events which helps the students to explore their talents. Sports day celebration involves every department students to participate in various sports activities. sahyadri uthsava a cultural fest which invites students from all the colleges which is under our university to express their talents

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees varies according to the seats they acquired, students with category sc and st have fee concession i.e, students with sc st categories with merit seat pay around 3-5k, merit seat students with other categories pay govt fee which is around 6-15k. Students acquired payment seats must pay amount around 40-60k it also varies from course to course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Paid fees will be refunded by govt of Karnataka if they were eligible to apply vidyasiri and postmetric scholarships. But as per my knowledge our university won't offer any loans or scholarship because required fees is low hence no need for loan.

Campus Life

4

National seminars and workshops are regularly conducted on applied and on going topics. each department organizes sports and extracurricular activities which provides opportunity for all department students and research scholars to take part in. University has department that focus on difficulties faced by the students on various major issues like ragging.

Hostel Facilities

3

Our university have good hostel facility for both males and females with sufficient rooms and maintained with good infrastructure. Currently our university have 2 boys hostels each hostel has different infrastructures and we have choice to choose between them and both hostels have separate mess which provides sufficient food for which we must pay extra monthly messbill. But washourooms are common for each wings.

Alumni/Alumna

Relationship with our seniors were super fun and they share their experiences with us regarding curricular events and about faculties, syllabus and some study tips that helps us to study well. Seniors will organise a grand welcome program in return Juniors organize send-off program this events strengthen our bond.

Admission

First we need to submit application for our course of interest via application form with required documents, our percentage in previous course will be analysed and seats were allotted based on their marks and caste category. Fee structure varies based on the type of seat allotted for them.

Faculty

3

Professors and assistant professors have good experiences in teaching and lab practices. But guest lecturers are not that experienced or well trained for teaching. Lack of experience in guest lecturers is a major concern rest is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
