Remarks

Positive Remarks: Teaching faculty is well educated and experienced, comprehensive theoretical as well as clinical knowledge, numerous extra Co-Curricular activities, development of personality as a whole

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course Curriculum was designed by the University itself with inputs from the faculty of all colleges. It was very well designed and aptly planned. There were no more than 5-6 subjects in each professional year. The course was divided into 4 professional years and the examination was conducted annually for the same.

Placement Experience

3.5

Yes, the college provides an on-campus internship opportunity which is mandatory for our course. It is a 6 months rotatory internship with postings in different departments including Orthopaedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Paediatrics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Rehabilitation, Community Service, Rural Health. The stipend provided by college amounts to Rs. 2500 each month. There is no campus placement model as popular with Engineering and Management Colleges, however the faculty is kind enough to guide us and write recommendations for us.

College Events

4

Academic Events: Continuous Medical Education (CME), Conferences, Workshops, Free Medical Camps, Rural Healthcare Camps, Debates, Quiz Competitions, Essay writing competitions, Annual Convocation and Prize Distribution Ceremony Cultural: Festival Celebrations, Chapel Service Co-Curricular: Annual Musica and Theatre Workshop, Poster Making Competition, Charity events, College Fests, Music and Dance Competitions Sports: Various Inter and Intra college sports Competitions

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure for BPT as for 2013 batch is 87,000 for the first year, 85000 for thouree consecutive years. Hostel fee is separate and is variable for different hostels depending on the hostel. Mess charges are separate and they are collected at end of each month amounting to the food consumed by respective student.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail any scholarship but a number of them are available and are mentioned in the college prospectus. Scholarships and Awards are on merit basis. Education loans from banks can also be taken.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many extracurricular activities within the college campus which provides an opportunity to grow and expand our horizons. Various inter and intra College sports events are regularly organized and sports meet is held annualy. The labs have all the necessary equipment and are extremely well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I was a Day Scholar but have been to Hostel on numerous occasions. The hostel rooms are very decent, spacious, airy. There are no restrictions on having electrical appliances such as Refrigerator, Heater, Iron, Kettle, Induction, Cooler etc. The hostels are well guarded and wardens are available at all hours. Hostels are regularly updated and are well maintained. Mess food has a wholesome menu and provides a balanced and nutritious diet. The food prices are also economical.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students and alumni network has been helpful at various incidences. May it be academics, emotional support or even as friends, we have their support. They are helpful within the college as well as after college as well. Their guidance helps us to decide future prospects and make correct choices.

Admission

The admission was based on an entrance test conducted by the college 2 months prior to the counselling. The entrance test comprised of two sections: section 1 which had questions from medical background (physics, chemistry and biology) as taught in Class 11 and 12 and Section 2 comprises of General Aptitude questions. The results were declared after 1 month and counselling was scheduled. Seats were then allocated on the basis of category wise merit in the entrance exam.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college is highly educated. The education doesn't merely focus on imparting theoretical knowledge but regular practical guidance as well as clinical skills are trained. There are separate theory and practical classes for each subject. Each subject is taught by the specialists in that particular area, because of the tertiary care hospital set up association with the college. Not just the theory classes but continuous clinical training is provided which enables the students to have a view of the professional setup and guides them for future.
