My Experience at ICEM

The only negative remark according to me is, that the college is in the outskirts of the city, and the public transportation is not quite feasible. As the college is surrounded by mountains it is altogether an different experience in every weather. One of the thing I like is how clean our college is, Specially the washourooms.

The curriculum is quite chill, The exams and practicals are designed in such a way that even if you start preparing a month before. The curriculum is such that it allows you to indulge in extra curricular activities. The subjects are both practical as well as theory oriented.

I believe we have one of the best placements in the Town. We have a dedicated palacement and talent management team. The team works with students from third year onwards of their course. We are trained for aptitude as well as soft skills by the team. A number of students are currently doing their internships with companies like T-systems, Jade Global, Angular minds etc. They are paid between 10k-20K. Well know companies such as Vanderlande, Anglo Eastern, Force Motors, LTI, Juspay etc are few which come on campus. As the intake for each department is lesser than other colleges, the competitions decreases and there are higher chances of maximum offer letters.

Indira is one of the college know for it's extravagant events, We celebrate Avishkar which is a 10-15 days longs festival, it includes Techfest where in every department organizes various technical games, seminar, competitions. There are sports and cultural days and the end of the festival is our cultural fest. Here the general championship is awarded to the department which won maximum sports. Apart from this, there are many small seminars, events, freshers and fairwell organized by every department individual with the help of student association. Talking about my department, we organize a National level paper presentation competition for Final year students named "Quantonium".

The fee structure is dependent on various categories, caste scholarship management quota are the factors which will decide the amount. For me, my annual fees is around 94, 000 (Indian Rupees). The fee structure includes tution fees, student development fees etc. There are options such as TFWS EBC for students who fit into the scholarship's criteria.

I'm not sure if scholarship's are offered by college, but the government provides various schemes and facilities for students. As mentioned above TFWS, EBC are a few to name. There many private organizations as well which can help with scholarships as well as loan facilities.

The ratio of girls:boys is nearly 1:2, every department has a student association which organizes events and activities at cultural level. There is a student council who will organise and manage events at college level. We also have an art circle named "Rangkarmi" who participates in various cultural competitions. The Nss team is a group of social students who contribute towards the country. Apart from this, there are football, volleyball, kabaddi teams as well. The college has a mix crowd of students coming from urban as well as rural areas. So the diversity of students is quite varied.

As I am a local student, I have not opted for hostel, but we have an on campus hostel as well as canteen for outsiders. There are separate wings for girls and boys, one room is shared between 2 students. The hostel is well guarded.

We have sessions for our alumni where they come for sports meet, to guide juniors and share their experience in the professional world. The placement team, also calls alumni working in the companies which are lined up for placement. It gives us students a very clear idea on what company demands and how can we fit in.

I got admission thourough management seat, the admission process is quite easy, there is dedicated staff for every part of management. The cutoff is also comparatively low, as the college is in outskirts of the city. I choose engineering as it grooms a person with various skills. Also I belong to a family of engineers, which made me incline to the same course.

The faculty particularly in my department will take interest in every individuals growth. They all are friendly and quiet approachable. There are a number of PhD holders as well as PhD perceiving faculty members in my department.
