My college experience

Ragging is an issue at my time, but now administration takes strict action. Anti ragging committee is now there. College owner was also an MLA in past from CPI govt in West Bengal. Apart from this everything is fine.

Everything is available but on average it is good. If you are interested enough you innovate something, faculties help you in that. In my time few people are too much interested in that, few published papers also.

50-60% placements if you are from cs/it/ece. In my time infosys take 130, wipro 100 from these mass recruiters they came on alternate years and came for 1st slot. If you are placed in any company then later whatever your package is, you can't sit for other companies. If companies greater than 2½ times your current package then one chance again you had been given to crack another one.

Technical fests and cultural fest organised in college named as prayukti, and rivera. They are celebrated inside College campus, apart from that cricket and football tournament also organised. The competition is intercollege.

In my time, it was 40k per sem. In West Bengal every college fee structure is almost same. This is feasible. Hostel charge is 12k per semester excluding food apart from sem fee. Overall you had to invest 4lkh 35 thousand for completing degree.

If you are from west bengal then you may apply for TFW(TUITION FEE WAIVER). Mostly students are from bihar, up, jharkhand, orissa, and bengal too. In 2semester(yearly )exam if you are in top 3 among their branches, you got semester fee discount.

Every sports thing available here.sports like cricket, football, basketball, cultural games like dance, music, drummer, apart from this plantation of trees to keep environment clean, there also small organization also works for poors and also gives education to poors child without any cost.

There also be an alumni meet every years. Passouts comes and give lecture and strategy about technology. Whatever he was on position, they try to help juniors upon till they can mostly core branches senior help too much for their juniors because core branch has less vacancies. They inform college about vacancies in their companies. and also refer him.

Given wbjee exam, secured rank then goes for counseling, and got this procedure is so simple if your rank is between 7k to 15k you will get these branches like cs/it/ece. In wbjee there will be a negative marking, you should attempt only those questions which you know perfectly. Because wbjee is tougher than any other state exam for entrance level.

In college mostly students goes for fun, here teachers are also on an average good, but few are very good. Mostly teachers are from Calcutta University, Jadavpur University, IIT KGP, and also from other government colleges.
