Civil Engineering

I am quite happy with my college. We have a good infrastructure, few awesome teachers, helpful Seniors, interesting extra co curricular activities, good placement, and a decent future. I am enjoying life here.

The curriculum is good. Subjects are divided into Core and Additional subjects which is good. We get a few extra co-curricular active every semester to boost our skills. And also one event (cultural and technical in rotation) every semester to open our minds for future paths. Overall it is good for our skill development.

Placements are quite GOOD with 5-6 lakh per annum. Every year a lot of MNC And Government company comes to hire students for a job. They give decent packages to our students every year which is brilliant for me too. Most companies are a government for civil engineering and few private companies like Tata.

We have technical and cultural fest celebrated in rotation. The fest lasts a whole day and I enjoyed it a lot. The cultural fest is organized in the first half of the year while the technical fest in the second half of the year. The planning for them is very long and it is quite decent too. Many students take part in it.

Our fee structure is a little expensive (18.22 Lakhs for four years). Students generally take an education loan to study as it is not easy for middle-class families to pay. For scholarship, we have to secure a rank under 10,000 in the VITEE Entrance exam.

Generally, students prefer to take student loans to study in college as it is quite expensive for us. I have taken an education loan from axis bank which I have to pay later. For scholarship, we have to secure a rank under 10000 to get 50% off on tuition fees.

We generally have a sports competition every few months. Workshops are held before 2 months of exam to complete our projects. The boys to girls ratio are generally 3 to 1. Labs are quite clean and very helpful for us.

Seniors help us a lot in completing assignments and also refer our books to buy for studies from large no of selection. We try to build some connections with our seniors so they can help us whenever we need them.

By appearing in VITEE 2019 Exam and Securing an 8739 Rank I got admission to VIT Vellore. I prepared Hard to get admission in college with good rank and I am settled with civil engineering. We paid a fee of 1350/- for the application form to secure a seat in VITEE 2019. we were called for counseling with a Demand Draft of 2,10,000 from which 2,00,000 was refundable.

Faculties are a mix of good and bad in terms of teaching experience for me. Some teachers are brilliant while some teachers don't show interest in teaching. The Head of the department is working better for our Seniors to get placed in MNC with decent packages and start their life with a boost. I am quite satisfied with our faculties.
