XIME Bangalore, Post Graduate Diploma in Management PGDM

Remarks

XIME is a good place to be in and it depends upon the student to absorb as much as possible and live a balanced life. These two years will be a roller coaster ride and one heck of a journey. Be sure to make the most of it; you will learn the greatest management and life lessons, here. Your individual efforts will matter way more than just the 'ranking' of college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is prepared to keep in mind the current industry requirements and is revised often. The first year is mainly focused to clear basics on subjects like accountancy, economics, quantitative techniques, marketing, HR, operations, etc to give an insight into what management is and more importantly to bring all the students coming from different backgrounds, to the same page.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are decent here. Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra come on campus to pick students, and select students on the basis of group discussions, and personal interview. The placement committee actively works to get the best companies to hire students on campus. Where the average package this year ranged between 7lpa-7.5lpa, highest crossed 11lpa.

College Events

4

XIME has its own annual management fest XIMERA, which is held during the end of the year. We also participate in several management fests hosted by colleges all across the country, on all levels. There are many events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Orientation Program, national conferences held, throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is pretty decent considering the city and how expensive Bangalore usually is. If you manage to get a good placement, the return on investment is good. The student's handbook will have a complete breakdown of the fees to ensure transparency.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for loans or scholarships. However, there are scholarships based on both merit and economic background having a waiver of about 2 lakhs, if I am not wrong. The college also helps in providing platforms to avail loans.

Campus Life

3.5

Currently, about 55% of the students comprise females. There is always at least a 50-50 ratio, every year and the crowd is very diverse. The overall campus life is great where amidst the course rigour, one can have a balanced life, too. There are courts for playing badminton, basketball, a field to play football or any outdoor game, hostels have table tennis boards etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

This course is a fully residential one. Hostel facilities are good. Although rooms are triple sharing, the size of the rooms is spacious enough with adequate ventilation. Every room will have a wardrobe, a study table & chair and a rack to keep all your stuff. Boys will have attached washrooms whereas girls have common washrooms in the first year.

Alumni/Alumna

It is a great opportunity to interact with seniors as they help you in getting an idea of almost everything, especially when you newly arrive at the campus, clueless. They are very helpful in general and it is a good thing to build networks.

Admission

I appeared for CMAT in January 2019 and on the basis of my score, was called for a written test, group discussion and a personal interview round, all held on the same day, in the month of March. The first shortlist was out in the first week of April and I got through the Bangalore campus.

Faculty

4.5

There are permanent as well as visiting faculty. Teaching quality is really good and the best parts of it are 1. learning is just not confined to classrooms but professors are ready to help students beyond class hours, and 2. Teaching doesn't only cover textbooks but also loads of case studies (mainly Harvard), subject related articles, real-life company examples and whatnot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure was good as everything was done in a systematic way. Best thing I learnt from college is that I got to meet new people and get chance to communicate with them by which I believe to some extent my English was improved. For learning the college is good but for placement not good at all
