Remarks
According to my experience and discussions with friends from different Colleges, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology is the best private engineering College in the Thrissur district. The College has good non-teaching staff. You will love the College on your first visit due to the hospitality received. Everyone at the desk is ready to help you.
Course Curriculum Overview
The theoretical curriculum is good and well planned. But the university doesn't give much importance to the practical approach. It's not a mistake of the College it's the mistake of the university. The College and university handled the unexpected situation of flood too.
Placement Experience
The College has its own separate placement cell. Companies like TCS, Infosys visit our College every year for placement purposes. The placement and job opportunity in my College is well compared to other Colleges in my district (Thrissur).
Campus Life
The labs are one of the best in the district. Labs are sanctioned to students for project requirements. Some labs have old instruments and meters but most labs have highly accurate and modern instruments and meters. The College has good sports facilities. During sports events, the participants are given duty leaves for them to practice. Recently the zonal meet of Athletics of Kerala my College was a champion of women's in overall and got runner-up for men's in overall. Our College even won a zonal cricket meet.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are very encouraging. Our College is strictly against ragging. I haven't experienced ragging here. I can proudly say my College campus is ragging-free. In arts fest, seniors encourage juniors to participate in different events to win the title. Seniors help juniors whenever needed.
Admission
I initially attempted the entrance test KEAM, which is a common entrance test for engineering for all Colleges in Kerala. Then the initial admission process was online. After that, if your combination of entrance mark and 12th mark meet the eligibility of College you will receive admission online. Then within certain days, you will have to visit the College and confirm your admission. You can freely ask any doubt about admission the College staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Faculty
All faculties of the College are well qualified. And as every College, even my College has some faculties who doesn't teach well. Some faculties are well qualified even have Ph.D. but lack teaching qualities. Some faculty's teaching skills are very appreciative. These are some rare cases, overall above 95% of faculties are good.
