Remarks
College is great, the infrastructure provided but i strongly feel something has to be done for the mess. If we were allowed to choose our mess the food would have been better. Also the teachers need to be evaluated again. Most of the teachers fail to teach.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course i feel is compromised between what it wants to be and what students are capable of. I feel majority of students come from not so good education background and thus teachers have to dilute their structure for the students to cope with
Placement Experience
Well, placement of betch is good, for mtechs you get placed if you are good in coding. Personality matters a lot. Some companies came with good package. I personally got internship offer from tata with 20k month and job offer in nokia with 7.5 lpa. Though its not great but still, from power systems it quite difficult to get a job.
College Events
Every hostel has garden fest, where bad quality food is served with great names. Appart from that we have hall day at every hostel. In college level we have inter college sports, technical fest, cultural fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive, though in mtech we get stiphen of 12.4 k but for btech the fee is nearly 1lakhs per sem. Thats huge if you are not comming from good stable family. Forigen students are even charged more sometimes double.
Fees and Financial Aid
In mtech we get paid by mhrd. 12.4 k per month. We do have TA that is teaching assistant. We have to take labs and assist our guides. Also biometric attendance is taken twice a day, failing which we may be deducted our stiphen.
Campus Life
In mtechs there is not too much of extracurricular activities. Mostly people are focused in their projects and getting a job. Though we play cricket and swim sometimes but nothing at a good level. There is only one girl in our class, so no point on discussing gender ratio.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, our colg has mandatory hostel. The hostel is good, water electricity internet is well provided. But food is bad. It imporoves during admission but then again it gets worse. We have 9 hostels and every hostel has its own mess. Though if we were free to choose mess, it would create competition and thus the food would have imporved. Going by the menue, anyone will feel we are having soo much food here, but everything tastes same.
Alumni/Alumna
We can sign up for being alumni, but we are charged 2000 for it. Being on placement committee we do have firm contact with all the ex students their job, post and other stufs as it helps in bringing new companies
Admission
I had given gate and through online counseling i got admission here. After power electronics which i didn get because of less marks, power system was my preference since i was good at it. Although its not a highly paid area but you get good exposure to optimisation.
Faculty
Some are exceptionally great. Appart from that most of them are lacking grasp of the subject they teach. Students fear of getting poor marks and thus no action is ever taken. Even at fourth year some teachers teach basic stufs.
