Remarks
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Assam University. It was a blend of fun and learning at the same time. My MBA program helped me successfully establish my own venture in collaboration with my family business. I am very much grateful to the faculty here. Though the some university rules are pointless since they are not followed strictly.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course structure was divided into four semesters, 6 months each. During each semester we studied 7-9 subjects including both core and elective subjects. First two semesters, we studied all the subjects, related to all the streams. And for the last two semesters, we opted for specializations. My program was a dual specialization program, thus I opted for International Business and Marketing. Internal and external exams were conducted in order to evaluate students.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty decent in our college. We have a dedicated placement cell which maintains close ties with different companies across India. Most of the recruitment were in the banking sector. Average salaries offered lies between 4-5 LPA which was pretty decent. Our placement cell also offered their assistance during the Internship process and even invite companies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My annual fee was 80k which was very much nominal for an MBA program. Our university offers a state of the art infrastructure and many other facilities at such a nominal price. In addition to that, the placements we secured made it worth the pain.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are offered by the University to the meritorious students to motivate students towards academic excellence. Apart from this, many other scholarships are also offered by state government and University itself. Many of our batch-mates secured these scholarships.
Admission
Admissions are granted on the basis of CAT scores. Students have to apply with a valid CAT score. I downloaded the form from the official website of the college and submit it after filling out the relevant details. I was invited for the group discussion round, which was followed by a one-on-one Interview. I didn't face any trouble in locating the college and during the admission process.
Faculty
Faculty was pretty great and cooperative. They all were degrees and experience holders. We got to learn a lot from them and from their extensive experience. Mode of teaching was innovative and digital. Most of the teaching was done via ppts using projectors and some times they would even show us videos fro subjects like advertising and branding. We learned a lot from them especially their constructive feedback.
