In 2016 I took admission in M.Com in Assam University Diphu. There was an entrance exam and the standard of the exam was at par with other universities and colleges. A personal interview was taken by the HOD and other professors of the department.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course as I wanted to be a teacher. I have cleared NET also. In session 2016-2018 we had a very handsome teacher to student ratio. It was about 1:10. Teachers were very well qualified. Every one of them is a Doctorate degree holder. Their teaching method was quite student-centric. The exam was conducted in an interval of 1.5 months. The standard of Questions was set from medium to tough.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees were nominal as far I remember I paid almost 18000 for 2 years course i.e. M.Com. Other courses fees are also reasonable. The scholarship is available. And for that we have to fill a form online. ST students availed themselves the most numbers of scholarships.
Campus Life
Sadly the university is located in a hilly area and not so developed area. And it is just a campus of main Campus i.e. Assam University Silchar. In Silchar every year fest is organized. The classrooms are nice and clean. Drinking water and rest area is available. Every year university week is held where we participate in various sports and cultural activities. There is NSS i.e. National Service Scheme campaign in an interval of two three weeks.
Interview Experience
Yes, I do face written tests and personal interviews for admission. The written test was of B.com level. A personal interview was taken by HOD and other professors of the department. The first written test is taken and then the personal interview is taken. Then final cut-off and merit list are prepared.
