Remarks

Overall the college is good. Vidya Academy of Science and Technology gives a great foundation to the engineer inside you. The college gives quality education at affordable fees as the college is under Vidya international charitable trust.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Currently the college is under A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University aka KTU, which I believe is tending to improve the quality of the whole engineering studies. However, there is still some clarity required in the conduct and evaluation of the exams. The curriculum of mechanical engineering has been well set with certain elective subjects which helps to focus on the future of the student.

Placement Experience

1.5

The college provide only few job opportunities which are often rejected by students due to the poor reputation of the company. The faculty of the college will guide the students to acquire internship as it is compulsory for the completion of the course.

College Events

3.5

There are both official and unofficial events conducted in the college. The technical events consist of tech fest which I admired the most while studying there. Every streams participated in this event and often considered it as a competition. Tech fest mostly comprises of tech expo, auto show fun zone and more. Tech fest was the biggest event during my college days which last for two to three days. A huge amount of money is invested in the fest. Cultural events are also conducted like arts, onam celebration, some occasional days etc. Apart from tech fest some good amount of money was invested on arts fest. During the inaugural function the college invite some celebrity to make the event more colorful. Holy was also celebrated which was conducted unofficially.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible compared to the other private colleges. Annual fees stay between ?70k to ?85k which one can pay by multiple times. Certain relaxation other than scholarships are also given to the economically weak students. There are not much hidden fees like that of any other college which I respect the most. The scholarships provided also make the education much more feasible but there is one condition for scholarship that one must not fail in any subject. If they fail, the scholarship will be temporarily suspended and he/she have to pay the full fees until he clears his arrears. The caution deposit in VAST-TC is only ?10k.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are plenty of scholarships available in this college. Scholarships based both on marks and income are available also some scholarships are provided to children of ex servicemen. The college also have tie up with vijaya bank to provide students with educational loan. But it's better to check with other banks.

Campus Life

2.5

To be honest, getting permission for extracurricular activities are some times a tedious task. In my last year there was neither sports nor arts which was a huge disappointment as being a final year student I didn't get a chance to celebrate for a last time. However, the NSS in the college is quite active and the camps conducted by NSS are really good. There are adequate facilities in the lab with very supportive staffs. During fest the workshops are opened all time so that students can work there.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of the respective branches are quite helpful. While studying in the college the seniors always lend a hand to help on all occasions. Also their guidance and suggestions helped me and my batch to conduct various programs.

Admission

I got admission in this college trough KEAM entrance exam. I put this college on one of my top priority and got admission there on merit basis. I choose mechanical engineering specifically as it had wide applications and interdisciplinary future. It was the scholarships provided by the college which attracted me the most. Despite being a private college the fees was affordable, thanks to the scholarship.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of this college are a real blessing to the students here. Almost every one them maintain a good contact with the students. They are willing to help students at anytime. Most of the faculty members are IIT and NIT graduates. But the placement coordinator was worst. He didn't try to bring reputed companies to the college. He only brought a few companies which only gave job if the students attend a paid course.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
