Entrance Preview
I gave CAT entrance exam, scored 90 % and then through GDPI got selected. The reason for joining this college is it is of its kind in South Asia and being sectoral it attracted me more. I have been an environment lover and thus I was focused to be a part of this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
First year it is general management with some courses on forest management. From second year, three speacializations are offered 1. Forest management; 2 Environment management; 3 NGO or rural management.
Internships Opportunities
There were many companies ranging from corporate sector like NCDEX, Philips, etc to banks, NGOs, Government organizations like MP Forest Department. The stipend varied from INR 5000 TO INR 50000
Placement Experience
During my time it was 200 % placement. Again it includes corporate organizations, Government organizations, banks, NGOs, State rural livelihood missions, etc. The average package was 4. 7 Lac.
College Events
Every fest from diwali, eid, etc. It is orgainzed by the cultural club of teh college wherein students and teachers both are invited and then we play games and have dinner together in college campus
Fee Structure And Facilities
Yes, it was 3 lac now I think it has increased to Rs 4 lac. It should not be an issue because MBA programs these days starts with 10 lac. and the best is IIFM has good RoI.
Fees and Financial Aid
No idea about it. As I was not offered any such scholorship nor I took loan from Bank so I have no idea. But one call the institute and ask about it.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was a bit issue 14: 3 (male: female). there were lot many cultural programmes and no such caste issues. IIFM administration takes care of it and such things are not considered important.
Hostel Facilities
All awesome, no doubt in that. The mess is managed by students committee. The food is great and the hostel is very beautiful.
Alumni/Alumna
It is bit weak not strong like IIMs. here there is no such platform where they both can know each other and moreover alumni are not invited on certain interval they are basically invited for alumni meets and very few for alumni sessions.
Exam Structure
Trimester system. Every year we have three semesters. We use to have two exams in 1 day i. e. morning and afternoon time
Faculty
Excellent faculty with specialized experience. We are taught by the IFS officers for forestry related courses. Teachers are very helpful and kind and provide all required support to the students.
