Remarks

The college campus is the best thing about the college. It is not a place to pursue management for those who want to jobs specific to marketing, HR or pure corporate. Although students passing from here also get into these sector but this is not for what IIFM is known for. It is much more beyond that. It believes in serving the society and nature for what it has given us.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It's is really good. It is very diverse. So In short one gets the knowledge of various field in this one course which also helps during the placements and also whenever the student want to switch to some other related sector in future

Internships Opportunities

Yes. 10 weeks of the curriculum are dedicated for internships. Students are placed in varied sector ranging from Microfinance , other Banks to Environment and Development Consultancies, reputated NGOs, Wildlife etc. I am currently in my internship period at MP Tiger Foundation Society and my stipend is 30000 + 5000 performance based + some allowances

Placement Experience

4

Students are placed in varied sector ranging from Microfinance , other Banks to Environment and Development Consultancies, reputated NGOs, Wildlife etc. The pay package is decent. And most of the students have ROI greater than 1

College Events

4

There are innumerous events celebrated in college throughout the year be it all the major festivals or any event out of a sudden plan like Environment Literacy Campaign is a three day event which has been introduced 2 years back. Although it is not a flagship event of college but is an important one. But some event are yearly and are flagship like 1.Coalescence- which we can call the Business meet. Different people related to the different sectors come and talk to students, paper presentation takes place etc. 2. Kapltaru- Could be called a Cultural meet where students show their cultural talents like singing, dancing ,ramp walk, rangoli making etc Many other events like Monsoon nights to welcome the monsoon is also celebrated

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. It is around 6 lacs for the two years now. It is less when compared to other b schools of the same category. Keeping in mind the placements and the facilities that are provided by the college, fees is low

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Scholarship is offered at the end of 1st year and 2nd year based on the performance in the whole year. Loan facilities can be availed from any bank. Most of the banks have this college listed in A category college so it's not difficult to get loan. Indian Bank also had it in A category last year and charge interest rate of 8.4%. Don't know if it has changed

Campus Life

4.5

There are different sports facilities like badminton court, table tennis, basket ball, football etc. There is a computer lab for students. A well equipped library is also there. A music room is proposed to be build.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel infrastructure is amazing (specially the girls hostel). Hostel rooms are very spacious with all basic facilities including almirah, table, chair etc. and have attached bathrooms too. The scenic beauty out of the hostel room mesmerizes one. Boys hostel share one bathroom for two rooms. But are good.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network committee is continuously doing changes to it's working style according to the need of the hour. Alumni register themselves there and believe in giving back to the college. As many alumni I came in contact with they are really helpful

Exam Structure

Exam structure in Indian Institute Of Forest Institute is trimester system. There are 6 trimesters in 2 years. In each trimester there are 7 or 8 subjects. Just like any other Indian Institutes grading here is on 4.33 scale

Admission

First one needs to appear for CAT/XAT. Then if shortlisted according to the required CAT/XAT score for further process. Interview and WAT will be the next process in one of the centres selected by the student out of 5 different locations in India like Kolkata, Delhi, Bhopal etc

Faculty

4.5

College has some of the best facilities of the country. Not everybody but most of them are also involved in research apart from being a teacher. There are also few IFS officers who are faculty at IIFM.

Remarks:

The college has considerably reduced the percentile criteria for admission that has led to mediocrity. Also the college is losing it's niche by giving non sectoral subjects more importance than the niche related subjects. No student goes unnoticed in the campus and so the individuality of students remains preserved.

Niche sector, Campus, Contribution towards society with attractive placement statistics. These are the main factors which drove me to take admission into the college. The things I like most about this institute are it's college life, mess food, peer learning, sports complex etc.

The institution despite being an Indian institute has lost its sheen because of ignorance of the Central government. At current times, when the world is facing the serious issue of climate change and various externalities arising out of it, an IIFMite has a huge role to play and this can only happen when this is acknowledged by the center. The institution is goodThe gender just that the ignorance of some people has to lead to its false positioning in the market.

There are only good comments for our college not because I am the student of college but when I joined the college I came to know about how college has different hierarchy levels and how they initiate their work. Later on, we get the best knowledge from our faculties. They taught us very well and prepared us for next level. College alwys engage us in extra curricular activities other than academics like guest session, virtual stock market games, debates , group discussions, sports , cultural fests etc.
