The space issues are being handled by the management. Distance from the main road has presented some problems to the hostel students.
Course Curriculum Overview
There is a main design subject for all the semesters and other subjects which are helpful in our career as architects. The curriculum is designed to provide specific knowledge to students helpful to choose subjects for postgraduation and also for securing campus placements. Industrial visits are part of the curriculum in all semesters.
Placement Experience
The internship is part of the curriculum and should be done before the thesis submission. Companies don't visit the college for placements. Portfolios are sent by students to firms for approval. There has been no case of qualified students being unable to do an internship in this college to this year.
College Events
Regular Celebration events are regular festivals like Onam, Christmas, Eid al fitr , Ramadan. Regular college events comprise of an art day and sports day. Academia events can be hosted by the students with permission from the faculty. Faculty and the management also hosts events according to the purpose at hand.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The merit fee is 100000. The mode of payment that I prefer is through the bank. There shall be other modes of payment. I did not have to pay any additional fees for securing admission to the course. The college provides absolute transparency in the fee breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does not offer scholarship opportunities to the students. However, it supports scholarship opportunities from government sources.
Campus Life
The campus life is peaceful compared to the overcrowded campuses that most colleges are familiar with. The practical hands-on aspect of the course facilitates better and healthy interaction among the students themselves and between the students and the faculty. The gender ratio is about 60-40 from male to female. There are no racial, sexual, religion-wise intolerance involved. Extracurricular activities are encouraged by the faculty only with respect to academic performance as there are such activities present in the curriculum.
Alumni/Alumna
The character of the course itself encourages better interaction among the seniors and juniors. The interaction was good to this year and it is absolutely essential for doing this course right.
Admission
I opted for this course by my sister's suggestion. I chose this college as it was part of the TKM management and it had a smaller campus and fewer students.I had to come to the college with my family for registration purposes during August of 2016.
Faculty
The main faculties are highly experienced and devoted. Most of them have experience in architectural practice and continue working as practicing architects. There have been problems associated with hiring faculties for the lesser important subjects of the curriculum.
