Shivam Goswami's Review On Muthoot Institute Of Technology & Science - [MITS], Ernakulam

Course Curriculum Overview :

Its an interesting course with alots of future opportunity. And its a professional degree course of 5 years. Can learn many aspects like about Art forms, designs and culture of different peoples and communities.

Placement Experience :

Passed out students can open their own firm. They can also do job under senior architects. They can also run their own construction company. And after doing master degree in particular subject they can apply for respective jobs.

College Events :

Architects visits, freshers, sports day, swarswati puja celebrations, studio, NASA, ZONASA, fest, vertical studio, model making shows, tournament like - basketball, volleyball, badminton, handball, football.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is feasible as our college is a semi- government college in Cuttack Orissa. But the instruments and other study materials are too expensive. We need to buy gaming laptops for 3d animation desings of building which is quite expensive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have not taken loan to study here. So I don’t know much about it.

Campus Life :

To be honest architecture students don’t have time of these extracurricular activities but all the sports are played in our college like - cricket, volleyball, basketball, handball, football. We also have drawings competition, skill development classes, etc

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is normal. All students are provided with same facilities. No students are discriminated on basis of money and religion. Food is ok. Hostel wardens and security guards are very helpful. They treat us like their own children.

Alumni/Alumna :

They are very helpful. Infact junior and seniors stay together in same hostel.

Admission :

Need to clear NATA and JEE paper 2 exam and 50% marks in 12th exam with maths.

Faculty :

They are excellent. They give attention to each and every student at the same time they are friendy too to everyone. They also take us on site visits and tour for better understanding of the subject.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
