Apart from the fact that it's too isolated from any metropolitan city, all the other positives of this college compensate for it's loss. Some of them include great alumni, faculty and peer group, great placements and internships, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's structured in a manner that prepares us for the future and get our basics right at the same time.There is unprecedented emphasis laid on research as it is always fascinating to learn and discover things that haven't been done before.Labs are evenly spaced to provide adequate exposure to what we learn in class.
Placement Experience
Placements are excellent and the college offers two internships to students.Top companies like Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, TRC, Goldman Sachs, Nestle, Bajaj, Mercedes, ExxonMobil, etc come to recruit and offer great compensation.Internship stipends range from 5000 to 2,00,000 per month and ensure students get adequate work experience in similar organizations listed above.
College Events
There are three fests: oasis, apogee and bosm and are the cultural, technical and sports fests respectively.Thousands of students from across the country take part in them regularly.Important organizations and student tech teams demonstrate cutting edge projects in apogee and great bands perform during oasis.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's feasible in my opinion as there are scholarships to those who cannot afford and yet finances are maintained well without receiving any aid from the government.The fee is priced at approximately two lakhs per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
Two kinds of scholarships: Merit and Merit cum need. Merit scholarship focusses on the academic aptitude of a student and Merit come need scholarship is offered to those students who are both economically weak and studious is nature.Loans are available from SBI at highly subsidized rates for students.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is about 8:1 and student parties are regular and enjoyable.There are regional associations that cooperate and help each other out in times of need and ensure even minorities get adequate representation.That way, the college is very accommodating and tolerant.Labs and sports are aplenty.All hostels have a common ground where we can play many small sports and the college has huge grounds to host and accommodate national level fests.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are large and spacious and are semi furnished.They can be of 2 or 1 sharing and concede to most our needs for just 12000 per semester.They have wifi, cupboards, wardrobes and wooden furniture.
Alumni/Alumna
Extremely diverse and large alumni network that has a global presence and are among some of the most eminent personalities in the world.Senior students are more than willing to help us regarding both academic and personal/non academic issues.
Admission
I wrote a test called BITSAT conducted across India and filled the order of preferences after I cleared the exam.I loved electronics since I was a kid and deeply fascinated by the quality of research done at BITS.Their famous no attendance policy and extraordinary faculty coupled with some of the best alumni network made me choose BITS.
Faculty
Faculty are highly qualified and exhibit great interest in imparting the knowledge they have amassed.Most of them understand the needs of the industry and interest of the students and try to bridge this gap in a great manner.
