IIT Patna - Explore

The environment here is good.It is situated in nice place in 500 Acres land area in Bihta.Faculty can be improved a bit but they are not too bad.There is some scope of improvement in other areas too like events held by school, free hours provided to students, Food.But all the other things are good and up to mark.I am Happy with my college.

The course curriculum is neatly designed to make sure that students learn all the important thing without lot of pressure.Most of the students here like it.The research part is also great here but I guess it can be improved a bit more.I always feel the frequency is low but we have to work a lot in lab in a single shift.About the exam structure, I find it a little tough to cope with a little busy schedule of tests and exam but it is something which can be managed with a little hard work and practice.There are weekly tests and some surprise tests in between class.Exam happens every 6 month.

The placemnet and Job opportunities are great here.Every year many students get thier preferred job directly from the college visit of companies.Companies like Google, Infosys, Microsoft, Citigroup, Eaton Ltd, ITC, John Deere, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, MU Sigma, Nvidia Corporation, etc.The stipend vary from companies to companies for different course.It ranges from 5-6 lalh rupees yearly to 50 lakh rupees yearly.Sadly, there is no internship program provided by college which can be a little sad for those students who do not get job directly and have to find job by themselves.But there are many few of them and I guess they are responsible for ot themselves.

There are not that lot of events celebrated but the ones which are celebrated are Grand and many a students take part in it.We have workshops that is compulsory to join every 2-3 months and there are some Cultural festival which is Celebrated every year after 3-4 months from start of college to help students to bond which helped me personally.

It is an Government college so Fee structure is not that costly.In fact it is one of the cheapest.I pay around 2 lakh yearly which add to 8 lakh for 4 year.It also varies for the Category of student like General, OBC, SC/ST.General category have to pay a full amount so they have to pay upto 10 lakh for 4 years, I am a OBC so I get a little Rrservation in fees.SC/ST and those whose family earn less than 5 lakh get their most of the tuition fee off and have to pay only for Hostels, Food, Research Programs and Lab fee.Minimum amount it can get to is 4-5 lakh which is quite feasible in compare to other colleges.

There are no scholarship facility provided by school.They provide reservation for different Category which I already mentioned previously in detail.I am using a loan facility provided by college only which pay upto 70% of my college fee.I have to return it after 3 years from Graduation in installments at 5% interest which seems valid.

The extracurricular activities are not that great here.They provide with very little of that but the quality is good.Gender Ratio is around 23 Girls every 100 Boys in total(currently).It varies for different courses.We are provided with different options for workshops, Cultural festival, sports to choose from.Some are for boys only or Girls only and some are available to everyone.There are people from different part of India, so definitely students of many ethnicity, race, religion are present here which can bring difficulties at first but once you get familiar here it provides a lot of scope to learn about different Cultures and parts of India which is quite interesting.

I live in college hostel.I have to share it with 1 other student and the Room is enough for 2 students.Not that big but not too small.Room comes with a fast working Wifi metwork, Fan, 2 beds, study tables and a cupboard.There are some spare space which can be used for different purposes.It has proper Gates and window.

college senior don't generally interact with juniors but if you try and make friends with some of them they are ready to help anytime.I have 3-4 senior friends and they have guided me a lot.It was very helpful time to time as college can be tough without any guidance and proper knowledge of some things.There are some extra Classes which are held with our seniors which gives us a chance to bond and make friends.

I got admission in this college through IIT Advanced Exam.I scored a decent number and IIT Patna was one of the choices I got in my preferred subject.I visited college for admission and they took a interview which went smooth then I was provided with different Courses but I had interest in Computer Science from school so I chose this and then I was provided with fee structure.I had to provide paperwork which was a lot of which I think was prettey unnecessary.

The faculty of main subjects are good.They have a lot of knowledge but the interaction is somewhat little.And some faculty are also mid tier but they try thier best to provide us with knowledge.I have no complain about my college in terms of faculty.
