Remarks
The college has both positive and negatives like every other college but in my opinion, the positives overweigh the negatives by a large margin. A few negative things would be the red tag faculties who stop PDA from happening. It's a good thing, but also the students here are adults and capable of making their own decisions, hence it is felt as annoying by many students, otherwise VIT offers the best you could ask For.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty well defined and engineered in such a way that we study what's really necessary for our course and career development and we're being taught the best from some of the best minds in the country.
Placement Experience
My college is said to provide 100% placement to all of it's students and the Highest package last year was 41. 6L and the average CTC was around 6L. My college does provide internship but I can't answer to it since I haven't taken it up yet.
College Events
Our college has cultural celebrations throughout the year honouring all the traditions and there are two big fests which take place. Riviera is a cultural fest featuring celebrities for proshows and games and other fun activities linked with it. Gravitas is a technical fest with it's part of fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is purely merit based and depends on the category for the course we fall under, but in my opinion, I think that it is feasible for the amenities such as labs, playground, green campus we're being provided with.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college provides a 100% or 50% scholarship for all of it's top rank holders and also there's a scheme by the name of "STAR" scheme which helps kids who are district/state toppers by giving them free hostel, 100% tuition fee to help suffering kids.
Campus Life
There is a lot of extracurricular activities which occur day-to-day and interested personnel can join. The gender ratio is 60:40 M:F in my class, but mostly it's 50:50. There are workshops which take place regularly for something or the other. We house students from all parts of India even though being located in a city in South India, and also we have foreign students with us such as from Africa, Saudi, etc study with us, hence I would say we are culturally rich and diverse.
Hostel Facilities
No. I haven't opted for hostels as I live in the same town as the college is located in. But as far as I've heard and seen from pictures, the hostels seem to be well furnished having 3Bed sharing, 6 bed sharing etc with AC facility and a mess to our choice to eat.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors here are friendly and we have a 100% no ragging system going on which is really good and I've never heard of even one ragging story, which tells a lot. The seniors are helpful academic wise, i. e, helping us with our Digital assignments, telling us reference materials, etc and also Mentor wise, as to what subject to take and whom to take and whom not to.
Admission
The admission was through An entrance examination by the name of VITEEE, whose rank determines what course we are eligible for. The admission process was through counselling where we had to choose the course we want from the available pool of courses in accordance to our ranks. It was purely based on merit and first come first serve basis.
Faculty
The faculties I've had thus far are well qualified, i. e, Ph. D scholars in their respective specialisations/the subjects they teach and have in-depth knowledge about their subjects, hence are able to impart knowledge in an efficient manner.
