Remarks

The college is a safe place for women to study and learn. They can come.out of their homes and study in an environment which is full of opportunities and challenges. They can overcome their fears and establish their own identity in the society.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is very detailed and educative. In graduation you choose 3 subjects, out of which 1 is your Honours subject and three other core subjects. Other than that you'll have an ancillary subject and a language subject. If you want to prepare for some competition exams in future then it's very helpful. All 3 core subjects have 2 papers to study and language and ancillary have 1 paper each. The exam structure is semester wise. You have to appear for 8 papers in one semester. One year has two semesters.

Placement Experience

1

There is no placement opportunities in BHU, unless you are enrolled in IIT BHU or IMS BHU. Other than that no companies come to the campus itself. Some internships are organised by the university, but they don't have any direct role in it.

College Events

2

There is a college fest, unique in every college and faculty. Their own personl fest. Then there is a university fest, named 'Spandan' for the entire students. The university also organise NCC and NSS events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasibile. There is and option for financially well off students who scored low in their entrance test to posses admission through paid seat for which they need to pay 10000 per year extra other than the fees for university development. Normal seat students pay approximately 3000 to 15000 per year, depending on their course structure. Excluding Hostel fees which is 3000 per month

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship program for girl child whose parents belong to a low income group. Other than that I'm not aware if there is any loan facility. There might be other scholarships available for students.

Campus Life

3

Laboratories are well equipped with the appointment of 2 lab assistants. There is availability of sports equipments and also sports events are organised yearly. Other cultural activities also take place during the fests.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful. They act as a guide for their juniors and provide them with knowledge. Sometimes they also share their old study materials to help. Juniors feel safe around them and there is no ragging.

Admission

The registration form is needed to be filled on the website. You have to choose your choice of subject and make sure you're eligible for it too. Fill out the form and wait for the admit card. I was informed about the syllabus for entrance and also previous year question papers were available to help with the preparation. The entrance exam was conducted. After a few weeks the result was declared. After the results were declared, I got my call letter because I made it to the cut off. Then there are instructions given for the counselling procedures. You have to report to he university campus with your documents for the procedure of counseling. After your documents are verified in the counseling, and you have filled your preferred subject combination, you wait to know whether you got the admission or not. The following evening you can check the website Portal, the same one where you registered in the beginning and filled the form. It'll give you and update on your admission status. If you're enrolled you need to pay the fees, which can be paid online or through bank challan. They give you a date on which you appear in your specific faculty or college to fill out some other forms and you get your admission finalised.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is very functional and active. Especially my department which is the psychology department of women's college in BHU. It has a staff which is very interested in imparting education and knowledge to its students. The teachers don't only teach buy guide us in every aspect of life.

I choose this course because I want to study psychology in clinical setting in future. I am interested in therapies and diagnosis but currently I'm focusing on counselling. There were 6 sections of masters in psychology with a ratio of 60 students each class. The faculty was NET qualified and some were doing their PHD along with teaching. The teaching methods was nice as we had access to technology as well like projectors. The material provided to us was really good for our future reference. Exams were held every six months and the difficulty level of exams were moderate.
