Remarks
College is right in front of Potheri railway station so connectivity is awesome and we can go anywhere in Chennai easily. The College campus is very huge and has all the facilities like a gym, food courts, a subway, and CCD.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very interesting as I'm interested in coding. Exams are mid sem 3 times called cycle tests and final end semester exams. Cycle tests are internal exams and the professor who teaches us checks the sheets. While end-semester exams are evaluated by professors from other universities.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty good at SRM. most students get placed by the end of their fourth year at SRM IST. Though companies come all year for placements. College does help students find internships. The stipend is around 15,000 INR for most students. My experience was smooth.
College Events
We have one of the best feats at SRM IST. one is called Milan and the other is AARUUSH. AARUUSH is India's biggest techno-management fest. A lot of big companies organize workshops and certificates are provided.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is around 2,50,000 INR for a whole year. And if you opt for a hostel you have to shell out an extra 95,000 INR to 2,16,000 INR. The fee structure is pretty expensive and therefore a lot of students have student loans.
Fees and Financial Aid
College does help financially weaker students get student loans sanctioned easily through an SBI bank branch inside the campus. Students who get a CGPA above 9 points also get 10-20% every year in fee structure.
Campus Life
Labs of SRM IST are very well equipped with all the required equipment required to study engineering properly and all types of equipment are in working condition. If anything gets broken it's replaced as soon as possible. For sports, there are huge grounds and proper equipment/court areas. Which are very well maintained.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni are working in MNCs once I got a chance to meet one alumni in the SRM university building. He was having a good job. Senior students are very helpful for freshers and they guide the juniors in academic and non-academic problems.
Admission
I appeared for the SRMJEE exam of SRM IST of session 2018-2019 and got admission merit-based through counseling on first come and first get basis and ranking. I have to then submit the 10th, 12th mark sheet and adhaar card, with a Demand draft of the fee.
Faculty
Faculties are very nice, calm and helpful. Students are given proper support in studies as well as the campus life by them. All the facilities have Ph.D. degrees and have a good experience. The way of teaching is very easy to comprehend.
