Remarks

Yes, there is a scope to boost up the student engagement, so that they can flourish their path more, in a wide way. The college management can conduct some international seminars on the college auditorium, where the students can attend and can gather knowledge in their subject in a better manner. Similarly, the teachers can motivates the scholars to present their paper in front of the guests. It can be a good scope of brain drain.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I felt lucky to be a part of my college since for enhancing the theoretical knowledge, our professors arranged an excursion for the final year student. Similarly, we visited Shantiniketan with our teachers. We witnessed and analysed the demography of the local residents in order to identify whether their income level would affect their consumption expenditure or not. We conducted a survey on 100 residents and made questionnaires. The elements of the questionnaires were relevant to the research topic. Hence, it helped us to learn how to accomplish a primary Economic research.

Placement Experience

3.5

My college is eminent for students placement at the end of the Bachelor course. List of companies that come for campus drive were: Tata Consultancy Services Wipro Technologies State Bank of India (For summer intership) I was blessed since I was chosen by the State Bank of India. I got privilege to examine and compare the financial health of the SBI with its rival firms. The recruitment drive by the SBI was taken based on the percentage of marks in the coursework. Since, I secured first class in bachelor degree, hence, I did not face any difficulty to be selected by the renowned financial institution. After shortlisting the candidates, they took a written test on the subject for checking the in depth knowledge on the candidates in subject. Every year, approximately 30%-40% students got placement from college campusing. Our teachers were so focused that they took a training session for the students before they appeared the placement drives.

College Events

5

Every year, we the students used to celebrate teachers day for our respected professors. The program was organised by us for entertaining the teachers on this special occasion. To make the event more colourful, we used to organise some cultural program such as dancing, singing, short drama, group performance, stand up comedy. At the end of the program, we had our lunch with our beloved teachers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The payment structure was feasible and convenient for the students. The eligible student could also avail the scholarship and could reduce their course fees. When I passed out my college, that time the payment mode was not so digitally upgraded. Hence, the students preferred to choose cash payment mode for continuing the course. After one paid his fees, he received a payslip against the payment. The entire process was transparent and there was no hidden cost that was charged on the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since, the admission fee was very nominal, therefore, I did not need to take any education loan. Nevertheless, my college offers the education loan to the needy.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college did not support racial or gender discrimination in the college campus. All the students got equivalent facilities and the female students could avail the amenities, what were received by their rest of the male friends. In spite of this, the students could keep them away from the college politics if they did not want to get into. Structure of labs: Being an Economics students, we were allowed to use the Statistics laboratory. The infrastructure was so good, that we got the opportunity to learn and run SPSS statistical software. It helped us to accomplish the critical statistical analysis and got more accurate outcome than MS Excel by conducting the operations like multiple regression, Pearson correlation, Anova testing, Chi square analysis etc.

Alumni/Alumna

We have had a good rapport with our seniors. They also guided us how to get good score in semesters. The bonding we shared was so marvelous, that they raised their hands to us as per our necessity. For instance, we got a good support from the seniors when we arranged teachers day event.

Admission

Once, I received the marks of 12th, I filled my admission form for Physics, Electronics and Economics Honours. Though my gradation of higher secondary was not up to the mark, nonetheless, I badly wanted to take any Mathematics related subject. It was unexpected when I found my name in the first list and I met the eligibility criteria efficiently to accomplish the bachelor degree in Economics. I chose my college for taking admission in the aforementioned course due to its excellent faculty. In addition, the percentage of cracking first job from college campus is very good and it is the other reason to get into the college. The admission process was flawless. The selection for Economics Honours was conducted based on the marks of Mathematics in Board exam. Once the selection process was completed, the students were asked to come for a counselling session. It helped fellows to understand the possibility of shining in their future career path. In the next step, the students needed to pay the admission fees to the college authority, which was nominal and similar to the industry. At the end of the admission procedure, the students received a confirmation receipt from the administrative section of the college.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
