Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is prescribed by the Mangalore University, which is the governing body of affiliated colleges in Karnataka. The institute is pretty good and the syllabus is designed so as to cater to the needs of rapidly changing marketplace. The course was more oriented towards the case study analysis and their relatability to the practical world.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements in our institute are the best in the industry. Most of the students are hired for the consultancy profile. Apart from that, there are some other top brands that frequently visit our campus to recruit students for a number of different profiles. The average package was somewhere around 3 LPA, which was okay.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My first-year annual fee was a little over 50k. So in total, I paid around 1 lac for the entire course which is comparatively less than other private colleges. On a personal note, my college was very much feasible even for day to day expenses, as well. Especially, if you see it from the ROI perspective, you know its a deal to seal.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms were spacious. Rooms were available on a double sharing and triple sharing basis. They have allotted single rooms in the hostel which have sufficient space and ventilation. The hostel was a perfect platform for interaction between like-minded people. Mess food was also good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is extraordinary. Many alumni are invited by the institute in order to share their journey and personal experiences and influence of SIMS in their life. They even interacted with us and answered some of our personal queries. It was a fun session.

Admission

Admission to the MBA program of SIMS was on the basis of the KMAT entrance exam. The cut-off for our college goes as high as 110. Followed by the KMAT exam students have to appear for the common counseling process. My counseling round was pretty intense and I was very nervous. But thankfully all went well and handled the interview round pretty decently.

Faculty

4

The faculty was very much qualified and consists of some of the best industry specialists who had an ample amount of experience in their respective fields. They shared their personal experiences with us in order to give us a hands-on experience for our course structure.

Placement Experience:

Practically 80% of my 2020 batch was given job offer by top recruiting organizations like Amazon, iGate, Accenture, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, DE Shaw & Co. Typically the average package they offered to people was around 3- 4 lakhs and the highest was way up to 10 lakhs. Our College possessed an active location cell that functioned hard to provide recruitment and other job opportunities to us.

Admission:

Students seeking admission to any MBA program must have an aggregate of 50% in graduation. The respective application process is as follows: You have to appear for a management entrance exam and apply at the college with your test scores and respective academic details. I applied with my K-MAT exam scores. Fortunately for me the cut off during my batch was only 70%. I received a call after a few days from the college to attend the counseling round. From there on it went pretty smoothly.
