My college experience

Remarks :

The main objective of our college is business. So those wish to do business and study MBA please do MBA at our college. The college browsers offered many great facilities but late we find out that all these are in papers only like gym, Wi-Fi etc

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is not bad, but it is not at all followed by any colleges. But the new curriculum adopted as KTU (Kerala Technical University) is much more excellent curriculum. In this new curriculum the students are given more internships and more practical experience while teaching theories, which inturn gives more understanding.

Placement Experience :

Placements are offered here but for MBA students, electronics, computer, sometimes for Civil Engineering graduates too. But for Mechanical Engineering graduates no placement are offered. No intership are not provided here.

College Events :

Tech fest was our dream but the management refused to fund it. We tried our level best to conduct in our 4 years carrier but was not able to conduct it. Sevet arts related programs were conducted. Science day, Sports Day, international Conferences. Etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

No fees are as per govt rules. The fee will be less if you opt for a management quata at the last time of admission. They will try to fill the seats as possible in low tuition fees. In addition to the fees more fines are collected for late fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The normal Education loan offered by Kerala government is offered here.Other scholarship includes low fees for poor students and also scholarship are provided for students comming through management quata with higher marks.

Campus Life :

Extra curricular activities are not available in college hours but can practice after college hours. Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Badminton, are played here. Out college inclues all the required labs as per AICTE requirements.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel Life have given a great experience on how to live your life alone and many decision making skills. But the facilities are less in our hostel. The main issue is the Drinking water provided here is not so good. It has caused hepatitis A to many of them including me.

Alumni/Alumna :

Till now no one have contacted for the alumni network unless an amount was collected. But we all are in contacts with most of the seniors and they also updates about any offers and give guidance they gets to know.

Admission :

I got admission through entrance test conducted for engineering students by Kerala government. Later an interview is conducted by the college for the final admission. In that interview the main objective is to note down detils of the newly comming students, and give a brief description about the college to students and parents.

Faculty :

The faculty here are most freshers who doesn't have much experience. The thing they all knows what the content is and they does a spoon feeding to the students. In my opinion the spoon feeding is a complete waste. Because sometimes many of them doesn't understand what is teaching. For eg now I am working for a machine development industry as an design engineer, while I studied design-engineering (a subject in syllabus) I studied a lot of things by heart of without any understanding, but now when it came to practical I myself diged out and find out many things, can't explain in words.

The Semester exams are tough. Electronics and biomedical engineering is a growing field that offers high chances to students in the future. I like how technology and medicine are totally different and we can join this way.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
