Remarks
This is a government college so there isn't much to expect in terms of living conditions and hostels. Food here is average but takes into account the preferences of both south Indians and north Indians.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is apt for engineering. The exams are not too frequent so we have time for extra curricular activities. We have a midsem and an endsem for each semester. Midsem usually has 60% syllabus and 100% syllabus is covered in endsem but with less stress on the portions already covered in midsems.
Placement Experience
Around 30 companies come for CSE placements, with Microsoft leading them in terms of package. Average package is around 18LPA in CSE. We can apply for internship through our college in third year. Usually the company that hires you as intern is the one that hires you in placement.
College Events
There are a number of cultural, sport and techno management fests organised in our college. We have Innovision as the largest tech fest in Eastern India. Vriddhi, inter NIT are the sports fest in our college. Then we have Nitrutsav, Rhapsody and Cosmopolitan as our cultural fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is very feasibile as it is a Govt college. Also there are a number of schemes for children with financial difficulties. Many banks offer educational loans in tie up with our college. There are a nunber of scholarships for such meritorious students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships here are based on financial difficulties faced by students. If they maintain a good academic record they can avail these scholarships to help in their fees. Some of these scholarships avail as much as 100% of the college fees for the year.
Campus Life
We have a variety of stadiums to accommodate all sporting events. We have a Cricket stadium, a hockey stadium, a football stadium, an international level swimming pool, a tennis court and a badminton court.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni here have a strong network and help the final year students to get a placement in their companies. They help in recommending our projects across. They are invited to our college for giving lectures.
Admission
Admission in NITs is only possible through JEE MAINS marks for indian students. For foreign students they can get admission through DASA. I got admission through my rank in JEE MAINS. There was online seat allocation for different NITs and branches.
Faculty
The faculty here is experienced and very professional. Almost all of them have graduated from IITs or from foreign institutions. These professors have done PhD in various fields. So we can pursue for a project under them for better chances at placement.
