It is located outside the city so the area is vacated and sometimes boring but the institution has a bus service on holidays that will take you to the city and back such that you can enjoy the world outside your institution.

The course curriculum is competitive and covers recent opinions on science. The exam structure consists of occasional pop quizes, one mid sem, bunch of assignments, one assignment based presentation and an endsem.

Placements are good and since its a research University post docs are a major concern. Students of my University get placed as post doctoral fellow in institutions like MIT, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon and Max Planck Institutes.

So we have a lot of fests, Enthuzia being the biggest also there is Singularity, Arts and Letters and Halloween Celebrations. We also celebrate Diwali and Onam. This year there was also Gabra Night. During these fests we treat ourselves with good numbers and great food.

I will say its moderate. Its about 50K for Undergrads and 31K for doctoral student but since all of the students get scholarship on a monthly basis I don't think that's much of an issue. Undergrads get scholarship from Institution, DST etc while Doctoral students get scholarships from CSIR, INSPIRE, DBT, GATE etc.

The institute have their own fellowship. GATE qualified student get a total of 31K monthly stipend.Undergrad students also get monthly stipend of about 5K. I myself is a GATE qualified student and get scholarship on a monthly basis.

There are a lot of clubs like physics, chemistry and biology. Also there is Arts and Letters club along with Astronomical Club. People here indulge themselves in sports like cricket, football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and even kabaddi.

We have a rich alumni and the senior students are really helpful. An appointment important part of doctoral program is lab training which is mostly under the supervision of a senior. We have talented and experienced seniors to help us through that bumpy road.

I qualified GATE with an AIR of 52, then I was shortlisted for interview. There was 2 rounds of interview which involved extensive questions from Biology and Chemistry. Then after interview I was selected by the teachers within 10 days and was recommended for admission.

The faculty of my institution are one of the best in the country. They posses doctoral degrees from some of the best institutions in the world and works really hard for our well being. They are really helpful and motivating.
