About my college

MIT is a great college for education, extra curricular activities and to have a good friend circle. It has a very good crowd and all people are genius. Teaching/ Non teaching faculties are also good and helpful and supportive. College infrastructure is very pleasant and has good facilities for students.

The engineering course curriculum is based on a lot of theoretical knowledge. I think they should focus more on practical content. Exams are conducted in 3 phases. First there is insem of 30 marks. Then there are practical examinations of 50 marks which also include term work marks. Viva is taken along with practical. And then finally we have end semester exams of 70 marks. This is a theory exam.

Placements in MIT are fabulous. We get many opportunities to apply for various companies through placement drive. Many big companies visit MIT for recruitment with an average package of 6 LPA. Higher packages go upto 8 LPA to 11 LPA. Also we have companies from Japan visiting for the recruitment like Sony with average package of 50 LPA.

There are technical and non technical (cultural) events celebrated in MIT. Texaphyr is the major technical event conducted which consists of code storm, code break, algoholics, query sense, reverse coding like competitions and workshops related to robotics, AI, hacking, IOT etc. Gunj and Aarohan are the cultural events in which singing, dancing, arts, plays are conducted.

The fee structure for SPPU students is feasible which is 1 lakh per year for engineering but for those in WPU is expensive because they have 5 lakh for first year and 3 lakhs per year for next 3 years. Although national and international trips are included in that.

There are various scholarships offered. One is the TFWS in which if the person have income below specified amount he or she can opt for TFWS during the admission process through cap round. U get TFWS based on your merit score and the fees are cut down to just 10 percent. Also there is EBC scholarship. Candidate from an open caste can opt for this if the income of that person is below specified amount. When you apply for this scholarship you get a refund of half of your total fees or while paying you have to pay half of the amount.

In extracurricular activities we have a major sports event that is SUMMIT. It is a big events including various sports like football, cricket, badminton, chess, volleyball,swimming, all the indoor games etc. Its a 3 day event. On the last day winners are announced and everyone is felicitated. We also have guest lectures on various studies.

The college is really supportive and often arrange guest lectures or programs for guidance of students which are lead by the alumni of the college. Also the seniors are of great help when the juniors approach. Teachers often help in communication between seniors and juniors.

I got admission through CAP round. There is an online process called CAP ie Centralised Admission Process. U have to register and create your profile and fill all the required information. Then you have to select the colleges you want to apply for according to your choice. Also you need to upload the documents those are mentioned. According to your CET or JEE score you are allotted the respective college based on the college's cutoff. There are total 4 rounds. After you are allocated a college in the first round you have an option to freeze the admission or flow ie continue for better colleges. If you are not satisfied with the college allotted you can continue till the 4th round. However you have to accept the college allotted to you in the final ie 4th round.

Faculty of MIT is good. The teachers are very supportive and helpful. They conduct good lectures and are always ready to solve doubts of students. Maximum teachers have a doctorate and are well experienced.
