Remarks

The positives are : The infrastructure The faculty, who make sure your concerns are clear The academic facilities to help students achieve a better understanding of many concepts. The awesome college surrounding to have great food. No negatives as such.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is quite challenging, but with the right guidance, it won't seem much of a hassle. The course is 5 and a half years long. The first and second year subjects are the most important as it builds a solid understanding to clinical medicine and helps in practice. The exam is conducted annually by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, which is held close to one week. The internal assessment by the college is exceptional in helping you being prepared for the final exams. Exam pattern is as follows: 2 Long Essays, 10 Marks each 10 Short Essays , 5 Marks Each 10 Short Answers, 3 Marks each Passing marks:50%

Placement Experience

4

Since this is a medical school, there's no concept of placement and job opportunities, but the best part is the opportunity to explore foreign universities through their student exchange programme.

College Events

5

1st year only: Fresher's day: This is to celebrate the entry of new pupils to the college. On this day the new students are allowed to showcase their talents and break the ice amongst themselves. Other events are : 1) Introspection: An Intracollege fest: This is a week of complete madness. It consists of competition within the students of the college divided into 3 groups. It has both Sports and Culturals. 2) Prometheus: An Intracollege fest: This fest is conducted by the third year students. This fest is attended and participated by many professional colleges including central institutes like JIPMER. It usually involves sports and culturals. The culturals is an absolute blast with a stand-up comic and a band entertaing the audience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the students who come through CET is feasible. Management seats are very very expensive. The fee for a student through CET is rupees 1 Lakh per annumwhereas the management fee is around 25 Lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college as such doesn't provide any scholarship or loan facilities The only scholarship offered is for the students who have done well in the common entrance test. They also approve all loan requests.

Campus Life

5

Extracurricular activities are given equal preference with the college letting the students participate in various competitions across the country. They are very supportive in field of sports and cultural activities. They even arrange the transport and accomodation when needed. The labs are the best in Bangalore with Bangalore's first Advanced learning centre set up here. The sports facilities are great too with a basketball court, Table tennis and Badminton arena. A football ground.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students here are the most helpful. The guide you in all aspects. They are available for help all the time, and give genuine suggestions to make life easy for a med school student. They are the best teachers during exams, telling the junior about how to face the exam and come put with flying colours. The alumni network is strong with a dedicated team looking after it and keeping in touch with most of the alumni.

Admission

I wrote the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. I got a rank of 250 and opted for this college. The admission process is quite simple. Once you get the CET rank, you'll be able to opt for the college of your preference through a centralised seat allotment system.

Faculty

5

One of the best teaching faculty in Bangalore. They undertake really good methods of teaching by preparing wonderful presentations and explaining the nitty gritty's of the concept. The foundation provided in the first year is very solid to understand the course better in the coming years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
