College review

There are a lot of positives because this is one of the Tier-1 engineering college in the country and the educational facilities that are given to the student are very good and there is also a system of zero attendance policy. There are not many negatives that are very significant to be noted.

Course curriculum at BITS-PILANI is like no other colleges in India, infact it is well designed to suit the needs of the student and the expectations of the student. The electives are provided by the college for various departments so that you can continue your interests even if it's not your major engineering degree. The exam structure is variable depending on your major degree but the common procedure is to have a mid semester exam and a semester exam.

Placements and job opportunity are the last thing to be worried about in our college, we have a very own placement cell working all throughout the year to present us with the best opportunity around here. The college also does provide internships. I got an internship at Reliance petrochemicals and the stipend was of 30,000.

There are a major of three fests that are celebrated on campus namely waves,quark and spree. Waves is a cultural fest, quark is a technical fest, spree is a sports fest. But excluding these three there are always events like dance, drama, music or mime always happening throughout the year.

It is expensive but considering the quality of education that Is provided it should not considered high. But it is also comparable to most of the private colleges around India. They also have nearly the same fee structure.

Merit scholarship, merit cum need scholarship are two major scholarship provided by the college. We have a State Bank branch inside the college that takes care of the loan facilities for the students pursuing their under or post graduation here.

The lab facilities in the college are one of the best in the country and most of the equipment are made available to us. The extracurricular activities are available in the student activity centre which includes gym and many other indoor sports. We also have separate court for outdoor sports like cricket,football, basketball and volleyball. They are well maintained and are good.

The alumni network is very strong and the senior students are always ready to help and contribute in whatever way they can. The alumni association takes care of all the alumni affairs and the funds that are gathered and alumni visit the college regularly for talks.

You give an entrance exam after registering for the same and apply for admission based in the marks you scored in the entrance exam. The college will send a detailed description of the admission process in the registered email ID and the steps to be followed along with it.

The faculty of the college are good, all of them are PhDs in their field of interest. They are ready to help you carve your career path and streamline your interests and are always ready for a discussion regarding the subject anytime.
