How are the BITS GOA chemical placements?

BITS Goa placements are good for Chemical Engineering. During recent placement drive, students of Chemical received the highest CTC of around INR 25 LPA. While the lowest CTC offered was INR 10 LPA. The placement average for the branch is around 99%. Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Reliance, Shell, etc. were some of the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive.

What should I prefer between chemical at BITS Goa and CS at new IIITS (like Nagpur, Guwahati)?

You can opt to enroll in BITS, Goa for Chemical Engineering only if you are positive to pursue your career in that field, or if you are simultaneously planning for any in-depth research activities in chemical engineering-related fields in the upcoming years. It is also to be remembered that the campus placements for students in the chemical department of BITS, Goa is not the best. Unfortunately, very few core companies visit the campus for placement offers. Now, there are students who also tend to get placed at several IT companies which are nonetheless not very simple or easy-going as well. While, on the other hand, some get placed in various consultancy companies which allegedly do not take your degree into any specific consideration. However, the older IIITs are comparatively better in terms of providing the best of everything, than it is in the newer ones. But, if you are personally considering the branch, then CSE has always been ahead of the list in terms of placement opportunities as opposed to Chemical.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Complete year wise fee breakdown Year 1: 7 Lakhs Year 2: 7.3 Lakhs Year 3: 7.6 Lakhs Year 4: 7.9 Lakhs (included the hostel and mess fees as it is compulsory). Academic fees has a 5% annual increase and the the fees in 2023 was approx 6 Lakhs along with mess charges and hostel charges of 50k/yr for both respectively. which total sums up of 29.86 Lakhs for 4 year degree of btech There is no quota or reservation. The admission is completely Merit based. there is MCN (merit cum need) scholarship whose eligibility is Family Income <15LPA. There is also Merit Scholarship which is given to top 2% students.

The fee structure for B.E. Chemical engineering at Bits pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus is approx. 6 lakh per year, totaling around 29 lakh for the entire course duration. The total fees include tution charges (around Rs. 2,50,000 per semester),summer term fees(around Rs.90,000) ,admission fees(around Rs.55,000), hostel fees(around 26,000 for goa and hyderabad campus and around 20,000 for pilani campus per semester),mess and electricity fees (around 10,000 per semester),other advances(around 13,000 per semester) and institute caution money(around 3,000 per semester). The tution fee increases at 5 % per annum every year. In summer term ,Students need to register for the practice school which is done during summer vacation between 2nd and 3rd year and its fee is 35% of the previous academic year whose fee is mentioned as summer term. There is no management quota or any kind of reservation , admission to bits is fully based on marks scored in BITSAT exam. There is dual program in which students are alloted M.Sc degree and at the end of 1st year based on their CGPA they are alloted single engg. degree and their course duration is of 5 year and they have to pay extra fee accordinly totaling to around 36,00,000. Bits pilani offers Merit cum need and merit scholarships. Merit cum need is for those having annual income of 15 lakh p.a. and merit is based on CGPA rank in each campus. For merit cum need students are ranked among those who have applied for MCN and then they are given scholarships in percentages of tution fees like 25%,40%,80% and for Merit some top students are given 100% scholarships.

BITS PILANI - It's magic

The yearly fees is around 2 lakhs and it's increasing due to the popularity increase. Hostel fees is 10k per month. There is no reservation in Bits Goa. There are three types of scholarships. Merit, need and merit-cum-need. Along with that there are other scholarships for economically backward class.

In 2021, fee per semester was approx 2,70,000. This increases by 10% per semester. There are majorly 2 types of scholarships, merit and merit-cum-need (MCN). Merit scholarship is given to the top 3% students by CGPA across all majors. MCN is for students with financial struggles and is given to quite a lot of students.

We need to pat fees at the beginning of the semester, it includes hostel fees and mess fee too. The fee increases every year. There is a different fee structure for international students. The fee also includes swd balance which is used for miscellaneous expenses on campus.

The competition level even after entering the campus is rigorous and keeps you on your toes to study continuously and perform well in your exams

The grading system is a bit stricter when compared to other colleges making it hard to score a good grade with the same amount of hard work you will put in somewhere else.

There is a consistent increase in the fee structure every year with current fees being around 30 lacs for 4 years for students who will be joining in 2024. We are also required to pay for the two internships that will be provided to us (one after 2nd yr in summer break and the other one in our 4th year). Merit cum need scholarships are also provided for people with week financial background (certain conditions are to be met). Students who have acted in BITSAT exams are also offered some scholarship.

Sometimes there is an attendance component attached to the courses even after the 0 attendance policy.
Sometimes there are clashes of seminars with the class timings.
The hectic schedule of classes is disturbing at times.

The fees structure is slightly on the expensive side but there are many features and scholarships to assist the students. If your parents' income is less than 15 lakhs PA, you are eligible for Merit Cum Need Scholarship and all meritorious students on campus are eligible for the Merit Scholarship.

BITS provide financial assistance to the parents and students whose parents salaries are below 6 lakh and the students are among the top 10 percent in the class. Oncampus job stated in January and I got placed in Trell.

Over the course of 4 years, the total fees paid was 16 lakhs. WIth additional expenses, approximately 18 lakhs was required. there was a 15% increase every year. Got a job at Colledunia with a stipend of 75,000 rs per month.
