VIT Review

VIT is a really good college where one can learn and grow. The infrastructure and faculties are really good. Even though there is not much to do in Vellore, there are a lot of activities to do inside the campus. Vit is a very safe place where no harm can be done to any students.

VIT offers University and programs core and elective subjects. It is mandatory to complete all subjects in the program core. Since there is FFCS we are able to pick our own slot and faculties for our subjects. The course curriculum is pretty good. The exam is divided into CAT 1 and 2 of 50 marks each which will then be converted to 15 marks. Then FAT exam which is out of 100 marks which will be converted to 40 marks. The rest of the marks are for either assignments or quizzes.

VIT offers very good placements and all students will get placed if they have the minimum GPA. Yes the college provide internship. But I haven't worked in a company yet through VIT's influence. I did an internship for 2 months at my dad's office where I was paid 14000 per month.

There are two main events in VIT. One is a technical event named Gravitas. During this even hackathons and various such technical activities will be held to promote the fun learning among students. Then there is Rivera which is a cultural event. Many popular singers and actors visit the college during this event.

Since I have opted the NRI quota it is pretty expensive. I have to pay 10000 dollars every year for education and then 3000 dollars for hostel and food. But if you join through general quota the cost will be much less.

VIT offers a semester abroad program where students can go to different universities in Australia,UK etc and do one semester there. Scholarships are provided to people who are in need I guess. I am not sure about it.

The men's hostel area consists of basketball, football, badminton, volleyball, tennis area. There is also a gym where students can join for 4k per sem. There is a swimming pool as well. The labs contain all the necessary equipment.

I am not sure about this. Since I don't know much about the alumni network I will just talk about the Seniors. The seniors are really helpful and there is no ragging in this college. Ragging is strictly prohibited in this college.

I studied in Bahrain till 12th grade. So I was able to apply through NRI quota. For this we don't need to write any entrance exam. If you are planning to join the college by writing entrance exam ,a course will be allocated to you based on your performance and also how much cash you have to pay for it.

There are both good and bad faculties. Some are strict but teach well and some are nice but don't know how to teach that well. There are few who possess both of the good traits. Since we are able to refer to other faculties notes it actually doesn't matter which faculty you take.
