Average college for average students.

If you are not getting other better college then this is a lifesaver college for you. But don't leave any better college or institute for coming to this college. I am not happy with my life but I don't regret coming to JEC.

The course curriculum of my college, according to me, is very much sophisticated. It is at par with the current expectations from Engineers. The curriculum and syllabus is maintained from my college only. The Exams are totally based on the syllabus we get from our college and the question papers are also set in my college only because its an autonomous college. The paper checking is unbiased and student whose paper faculty is checking is made anonymous to the faculty.

No my college does not provided Internship of any kind. Although in our eight half-yearly semesters, we are required to provide a six months (in total) industrial training certificate we have undergone from anywhere. Placement record of my college is far better than many colleges. For branches except IT/CS/EC, other branches placement companies are very few and their annual package is satisfactory and sometimes it is very huge. But for these three branches, many mass recruiter companies come and provide a decent package.

In my college, the events are purely conducted by students and students only. The authority just gives permission, which is also very challenging to get. Rest of the work, from getting sponsorships to organising the event, is done by students. There is no annual or regular fest or event which is conducted but there are some events which are famous and conducted in past in our college. Most recent event was conducted this year named 'Aavahan JEC 2K19'. It was a sports tournament in which various sports were played between different branches of my college. In past, events like Helix, Milan etc. have been conducted too. Many a times, if students are lucky enough, they are also able to organise dj nights and night parties. But it happens rarely.

The fee structure is very cheap and feasible. Also there are different scholarship schemes from government so that it is much easier for underprivileged students to pay fees. But even without the scholarship, I think anyone can pay the fees as it is very cheap.

I have not availed any scholarship. But my state government offers many scholarships for different students based on their merit as well as their category. Medhavi Chattra Yojana, OBC scholarship, SC/ST scholarship are some I know. Also my college returns the examination fees of GATE exam of final year students.

Labs are regularly conducted and every lab is present in my college but except a few, others' infrastructure and instruments are very unmaintained and antique. Extracurricular activities in my college depend on students' own efforts, but any help is not given from college authority. There is a Sports department and some basic equipments are provide for sports but they are very unsatisfactory.

Alumni contact is very rare in our college. No alumni comes in college once graduated. But senior students are very helpful if you interact with them. They even provide you with books and other instrument you'll need in you course. They even help you in non academic works.

I gave JEE Main exam which is a national level entrance exam. Then I applied for state level counseling of MP state through mponline website. Then I had to fill choices of colleges and branches and I was given proper college according to my choice and rank which was prepared using merit in JEE Main exam. When I got Jabalpur Engineering College, I had to first come and get my documents certified by officials. Then I submitted admission fees and I was admitted in 'Information technology' branch of Jabalpur Engineering College.

The faculty are well experienced but less modern. Well most of the faculty is well dedicated to teaching the students but some do not even bother to come in class or teach with passion. Although such faculty are very few. We are given assignments time to time but they are NEVER checked seriously. Not even the mid-sem test papers are checked seriously. Whole class copies one assignment which is shared through the class group in online messaging platforms. The faculty teaches purely for marks and for academic excellence not for actually teaching something professional.
