Remarks

Positives: good infrastructure, experienced faculty, good scope to learn apart from the classroom through various clubs and workshops, good placement opportunities for selected branches. Negatives: too much intake of students, decrease in quality of teaching because of too much intake which forced to recruit some inexperienced faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The best part of college is its curriculum. Which is designed in a way that ensures the student has not only gained good theoretical knowledge but also he can apply it in practical life. The curriculum is based on a credit system and 187 credits are needed to be completed to get a degree.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide any internship opportunities but you should search on your own and do a one-month internship at any company. The one-month internship is a must and it is a part of the curriculum. Nearby there were companies like bhel, TVs where you can easily find an internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

For cse, it, ece the placement opportunities were quite good and companies like google, bank of America, Amazon, Flipkart, whirlpool hire students offering very high packages but the picture is bleak when it comes to mechanical and civil branches even though companies like Vedanta, TVs, honda, Volvo, l&t visit the campus they recruit very less number of students.

College Events

3.5

Rivera is a cultural fest organized in the month of February every and it is hosted by many sports and film celebrities. The event happens for four days and there will be a sort of festive mood everywhere on the campus. Gravitas is a technical fest organized in the month of September every year. This is a good platform for every student to showcase his skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is a little bit expensive but when compared to other private institutions it stands way below. Moreover many banks are providing education loans at minimal interest rates and vit also provides scholarships for merit students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Vit offers education free of cost to all the district toppers in their intermediate board exams for Tamil Nadu students. The management also provides scholarships for those holding a BPL card and got a seat on a merit basis.

Campus Life

4.5

Vit has many clubs that serve as a purpose for both skill-building and entertainment. Apart from this vit encourages its students to participate in various sports events in and out of the campus.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are one of the best parts of vit. It has a total of 15 blocks in the men's hostel with good ventilation and each block having its own shuttle court, canteen, and night mess. The entire hostel has one common free gym and one paid gym. The hostels are located in between lush green trees and make you feel as if you were in your home.

Alumni/Alumna

Shubhangi Swaroop, the first woman in the Indian navy is an alumnus of vit. Many film stars like Bindu Madhavi, Dhyan Sreenivasan were also alumni of vit. Apart from this vit has also delivered some of the best minds who are IAS officers like Anmol Srivastav, right raj

Exam Structure

The exam structure in vit is very simple with two midterms and one final exam for each semester. Midterm exams are called cat and there will be no criteria for pass or fail. But in the final exam, you should get 50% marks combined with internals to clear the exam. The internals and term-end carry a weightage in the ratio 4:6.

Admission

Admission to vit is a simple process. Vit conducts viteee exam in the month of April every year and based on the rank you will get a call for an interview where you need to select the branch you are interested in and pay the fee. Please select the hostel room at that time only because of the huge crowd you may miss an AC room if you delay.

Faculty

3.5

The main reason why I joined the college is because of its reputed faculty. The majority of the faculties were m.tech/Ph.D. degree holders from iits and nits. The college offers good scope for research and the faculties in the process were always updated with the latest happenings in their particular field.
