Remarks

Everything I find about BHU campus is positive .It is very attractive campus having a wonderful greenery all around and a lot of places for hangout with friends .BHU has well -educated and reputed professors in all courses .It is one of the prestigious institution all over the asia.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

This is 3 years M.sc course in (geophysics )which is quite unique and interesting subject involves lot of exploration in the fields .In these 3 years ,we have six semesters and grading system are there .

Placement Experience

3.5

Yes,some well-known companies like Indian oil,ONGC recruit students from geophysics department as a geophysicist post.Student have great opportunity to get into ONGC if they work hard throughout these 3 years. Our college provides internship in the beginning of second year at the places like National geophysical research institute(NGRI) ,hyderabad.According to the marks they obtained in the 1st semester.

College Events

3.5

There are lot of events celebrated in the college .Actually BHU is very big university which provides degrees in various courses of undergraduation and post-graduation.events like Akanksha, spandan etc. former is mainly held in February month in which whole institute of science performs as per's choice and according to that, they get chance to perform in spandan ,which is quite big event of BHU.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible .It is not expensive .Apart from mess charges ,we have to pay approximately 5000-6000 per year which includes tuition fees, hostel fees etc.And some seats of every course is named as PAID seats which has quite high fees and these seats are provided as per merit in entrance examination .

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes ,A lot of scholarships are being offered in the college. In my course ,ONGC(oil and natural gas commission) also offers scholarship of 60,000 per month for meritorious OBC SC and ST students in which students are selected on the basis of interview and written examination .

Campus Life

4

Labs are fine .various sports events are also organised like mini marathon,inter-hostel cricket,inter-hostel volleyball tournament in which students can participate according to their choice .There is meteorological lab in our geophysics department which has various instruments important for weather forecasting .

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel infrastructure of BHU is very good as it has badminton court, volleyball court, hygenic mess and good canteen.we have 24 hrs electricity and water facility in hostel and also geyser is provided in the washroom for the hostellers so they can use in winters.

Alumni/Alumna

Our geophysics alumni network is very helpful .Some seniors of our department is working as a geophysicist in various ONGC's so they help us by telling strategy which we have to keep in mind at the time of interview and also they provides us a stay whenever we go for industrial training at ONGC(Oil and Natural gas commission).

Admission

I got the admission by qualifying entrance exam which is conducted by BHU itself.Admission into this course is completely based on merit or say marks you have obtained in entrance examination according to which rank is displayed .

Faculty

4

Faculty is good .we have well-educated ,reputed professors who teaches us in these 3 years .All are very helpful.some faculty members also includes professor of geology who gave us a glimpse of geology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Msc.Biotechnology is a good course. The laboratory aspect has pushed me a bit to make the decision. Curriculum makes us academically good but not good for real world. College laboratory needs improvement in terms of installation of proper laboratory equipments. Teaching skills & class control methods needs improvement. Teaching should be made more industry based and practical based. Exam pattern is good, not very easy to pass, have to work hard to get good marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to study psychology in clinical setting in future. I am interested in therapies and diagnosis but currently I'm focusing on counselling. There were 6 sections of masters in psychology with a ratio of 60 students each class. The faculty was NET qualified and some were doing their PHD along with teaching. The teaching methods was nice as we had access to technology as well like projectors. The material provided to us was really good for our future reference. Exams were held every six months and the difficulty level of exams were moderate.
