Remarks

The college offers all the resources to the students who are interested in learning and pursuing opportunities. But it fails to inspire the students who lack a sense of direction. It provides a platform for students to explore and develop technical and social skills. But at the same time they are very money driven. Failing to meet the 75% attendance requirement will cost the students as high as 10,000 rupees.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is basic and feels a little outdated. It includes the essential base skills for a software engineer but additional skills would have to be obtained outside of college to be able to secure a satisfying job.

Placement Experience

2

The college provides interview training before graduation and companies do come to the college with job offers. Though the number of students that land decent and satisfying jobs are very low in number. Pursuing outside internships are encouraged in the final year of study, but I am not aware of the college providing any directly.

College Events

4

The college has a Literary and Cultural fest, called Zenith. (Earlier name: Lavz O' Philia) Art fest called Art Beat The signature cultural fest called Pramana The college also holds workshops and other technical seminars on a regular basis.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for an engineering degree amounts to 2,50,000 rupees a year. Excluding transportation facilities. This is certainly not affordable to the general middle class sector of people. It's expensive and the students that come here are fairly well off.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a discount in fee to those who have scored exceptionally on the GITAM Admission Test. I also have a friend who started his computer science degree in GITAM, but has studied the same course for 1 year before it. The college offered him a 50,000 discount here for every year.

Campus Life

4

The college has sports teams and they go to inter college tournaments a few times a year. The labs are well equipped and there are several student bodies that enable students to partake in and conduct events in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors in the college are helpful. People who have passed out generally aren't in touch with the college population. Every year the college holds an alumni meet and those are the only sources of interactions with passed out seniors.

Admission

I've written the GITAM Admission Test and visited to the college during admissions time in the June of 2017. I was asked to choose a course of study and show my results from Intermediate State Board. Once my credentials were approved, the admission procedure had begun.

Faculty

3

The faculty is adequately qualified and experienced in the subjects they teach. Though a lot of them lack the appropriate communication skills to teach complex subjects or even create interest in the dull ones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams

Campus placements do exist , and it really depends on the person not much on gpa the highest was 40lakhs per annum one time , the lowest was 3lakhs , it really varies time to time but nowadays with advancment in AI and more competition placements aren't really guaranteed
