Remarks
The only negative thing is that as PU is a government sector the work process is very slow and time taking. The officials are reluctant and you have to be consistent for getting your work done. The positive thing ia that there are lot of opprtynitiee for stufents whether they wamt to excale in INDIA or Abroad.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is nice and for qualifying GATE or GPAT you need to have clear concepts of your bachelors. The exam consists of 125 questions for each correct question you get rewarded with 4 marks and for one wrong choice one mark is deducted.
Placement Experience
UIPS provides 100 percent placements for PG students and is popular for producing a number of GPAT qualified UG students each academic year. Internship is also arranged for interested students in PGIMER and other pharmaceutical industries. Some offer stipend of around 5k to 6k and some dont. The industries that come for placement are Dr. Reddys, novartis, cipla, sun pharma, lupin, Eli lily.
College Events
various conferences are organised such as IBRO (international brain research organisation), DST inspire , various national conferences on recent advancements in the area of pharmacy, Indian pharmaceutical congress, Indian science congress etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
fee structure is feasible i.e. 40k per annum fo4 core subjects and 1 lav 40k per annum for self financed courses of m pharm . For UG it is around 40k per annum. It is easily affordable for any student willing to study.
Fees and Financial Aid
For Gate or gpat qualified students AICTE scholarship is provided of 12400 rs.per month. Various other government scholarships can also be availed through the department. For UG students many government scholarship schemes can also be availed for meritorius financially weak students.
Campus Life
The field of pharmacy is so extensive that most of the people are not that interested in extra cocurricular activities.It totally depends upon one's own interest. For those interested there are lot of opportunities and for those belonhing to sports quota can easily get admissions as well jobs in Panjab university.
Hostel Facilities
It is very difficault to get hostels inside university as they are also alloted based upon merit. The hostel rent is very nominal around 10k for 6 months which is easily affordable.The mess bill is prepared based on meals you take so it is very convenient.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very extensive and seniors are also very helpful. The alumni of Panjab university are well settled in various MNCs and thus arrange various placemnts and internships for the current students.
Admission
QUALIFIED IN GATE OR GPAT. this is the must thing then merit list is prepared based upon our graduation marks and GPAT /GATE score.Admissions are done strictly based upon merit.There are 6 streams and you will get your desired stream as per you merit number. Each stream has 12 seats out of which 10 seats are reserved for punjab residents.
Faculty
Faculties of this college are highly qualified and esteemed personalities.The institute is ranked 2nd as per NIRF framework amonst colleges of pharmacies all over the country. Many DST and CSIR funded project work are going on in this department and many research associates also work here.
