Remarks

The college is overall a nice place to nurture the young minds of fresh graduates. There is no need for one to give second thoughts about the college. One may have it difficult to adjust to the situations which are different to urban areas. But before graduating they'll be attached to the college in a way only they can feel but no other.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is vast but we'll distributed in 6 semesters. The total course is 4 years long with 8 semesters. First 6 semesters each constitute of 11 to 13 courses and each having 2 to 4 credit hours a week. The major courses are agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, genetics and entomology along with economics, statistics and sociology. The last year is for experience gaining in RAWE( Rural Agricultural Work Experience) and ELP (Experimental Learning Programme) involving practical work experience in industrial and rural farm sectors. The exam pattern includes marking in CGPA system and 2 exams in each semester. One midterm consisting 30 percent and practical consisting 20 percent marks and the final semester consisting 50 percent marks in each subject.

Placement Experience

3

Placement is a rare opportunity in agriculture sector and their is lack of proper placement cell in our college but students can go to the university in bhubaneswar to look for placement opportunities. In the 4th year of studies the college provides internship programmes in industries as part of course curriculum for 3 months. Stipend is given to students in RAWE programme in form of scholarship. A sum of INR 18000 from ICAR and 6000 INR from university fund.

College Events

4.5

Our college celebrates all the major festivities in pomp and merry. All the students take part in decoration as well as celebration of national festivals like independence day, Republic Day, Gandhi jayanti etc and Ganesh chaturthi, Saraswati puja, diwali, holi etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not expensive for those who are admitted under general seat or free seat. For a year of college the tuition fees are a total of around 35000 including all expenses of college and hostel stay. But those admitted under cost sharing seat have to pay an extra amount of 60000 per year. The food or mess bill is to be paid individually per month by the boarder. In ladies hostel the mess bill is roughly 2000 and in gents hostel it is 2600

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is offered for students who are financially poor or of backward caste. There is also a scholarship based on merit and provides students monthly stipend. Merit scholarship involves 5500 for top 6 students and 1100 for next 6 ranking students.

Campus Life

4.5

Laboratory for each major subject is available with all essential equipments. Extracurricular activities includes a photography club, music club and many other things. Activities like exploration, hiking and competitions like rangoli, mehndi, drama, dance, singing etc are performed annually on stage. Sports activities include annual sports day with all athletic as well as indoor and outdoor games like volleyball, badminton etc are played. A cricket tournament named PMCT is observed every year in the college in the memory of an alumni who passed away at an early age due to health issues. The games are a festival in the college and all students players and nonplayers alike enjoy the events.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is located within the college campus and has all amenities to be a good hostel for undergraduate students. The hostels have 50 rooms and equipped with numerous bathrooms and toilets for the ease of boarders. It has a recreational room with table tennis and carrom boards and television for entertainment. Good food and mineral water is provided.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students as well as the alumni are a great asset to the history of the college. They help build the college campus to high standards by guiding the students and newcomers. They help organize the events in the college with active as well as passive participation. They also help in career advice and guide the new graduates for a better future.

Admission

I faced an entrance exam after completing 12th standard. The test had no negative markings so ease to the mind. The selection process was deliberate including marks of 10th and 12th math science as 25% each weightage and the entrance was 200 marks and carried the rest 50% weightage. The students were called to the counselling hall based on rankings in overall weightage which was announced online and they were offered the choice to choose the college of their choice based on rank.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are well trained and highly efficient in their individual disciplines as well as some in other disciplines. They are experienced with prior practical work in the research field and are really helpful with their subjects. Although the college lacks some faculties in minor subjects it fulfils the same by inviting renowned guest faculties from the university in bhubaneswar or from local universities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
