Remarks

The best part about VIT is the infrastructure. If you are interested you can get rewards of all the facilities. VIT has advanced labs, various clubs that promote extra curricular activities, be it technical or non technical. There is also proper safety ar

Entrance Preview

I took VITEEE in 2009, I got a rank around 3500 and i opted for Btech in Mechanical. Although i had the option of all branches available to me i opted for Mech as VIT is famed for the branch. And also the recession in CS/IT made my decision easier plus my favourite subjects were thermodynamics & Mechanics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In VIT we were given the choice of FFCS(Fully flexible Credit System). In this system a student is given the choice to select the courses that he wants to study, the teacher, the classroom and the time(morning or afternoon slot) subject to certain prerequisites. We could choose whatever electives we wanted to study and in which ever semester. We could also do major or minor in other branches by selecting elective courses of those branches.

Internships Opportunities

Generally college would recommend you to companies but it was upon students to get to the desired company and get the internships. The stipend offered depended on companies. There was also an option for semester abroad programme where student can go to some foreign university and complete a semester. It was some what sponsored from college.

Placement Experience

4.5

For us in 2013, core placements where somewhere around 60-70% of toal strength. However almost 100% go placed owing to placements in IT companies like accenture, Capgemini, Infosys. Core companies Visiting for mechanical placements where mostly automobile companies like Mahindra, Tata, Maruti, Hyundai, Ashok Leyland etc. Other companies like SKF, sabmiller etc also visited for mechanical. However if we look at placements CS/IT was the most benefitted branch owing to placements by almost every big software company like Oracle, Flipkart, SAP, Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Deshaw, Deloitte etc.

College Events

5

There were 2 major fests during my time 1)Gravitas: the techanical fest, 2)Riviera: the cultural festBoth these fests were widely acclaimed and received huge participation from all colleges across India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is feasible and education loans can be easily procured from leading banks. Fees are not very less as that of NIT but also not as high as compared to other private colleges. The fees generally increases every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Top rankers of states were given financial aid and also students belonging to economicaly weaker sections(some income criteria for parents is fixed).

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good and engaging. The gender ration would be in an around 70:30 in favour of boys. Regular events by various clubs keep students engaged. Fests would also come and go regularly. There is definitely no bias based on religion, region with students coming from almost every corner of the country to study in VIT. You will also get a chance to interact with foreign students from China, Africa & Europe who come to VIT for studies. Some NRI students also study in VIT.So there ample opportunities to know various culture and various people.

Hostel Facilities

5

My personal experience with fooding and lodging in VIT was very good. For hostel you get choices of all kinds of rooms from 6 sharing to single. From choice of ac to non ac. One can choose depending on his budget. Similarly for mess one can choose from ve

Alumni/Alumna

VITAA: An alumni network for passed out students of VIT. There are regular events and interaction among alumni. There are student chapters across India and abroad for VITAA. Alumni meet wih each other in these interactions. There is also a VITAA news letter where you get to know about its events through regular mails. Alumin share their achievements and experiences.

Exam Structure

The entrance exam VITEEE has 120 questions and all objectives. There is no negative marking.Questions asked will be from Maths, Physics & chemistry of 11th & 12th level.

Faculty

4

I would not say that faculty was top notch but yes some professors were very good and they would help you if you genuinely showed interest. The students were encouraged by faculty to undertake projects by professors and they gave able guidance.
