Remarks
Overall my college was ok and good, education in college under our university VTU was not good, it did not add much knowledge and had poor curriculum to meet todays industry standards, but as my college, college life was almost dry without any extra curricular activities, only few days such as annual day, sports day and a industrial cum an casual trip to goa in final year lifted our spirits.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is based on the Visveswaraya technological university(VTU) curriculum, Almost all the engineering colleges come under this university. Especially for mechanical engineering, the curriculum was old and did not meet any industrial standards and there was no practical knowledge because the course had no practical applications applied in it, just theory knowledge. So presently even after my graduation i had to do extra courses for meeting and knowing the industrial standards which could get me a decent job as a mechanical engineer.
Placement Experience
Placements are almost nil, out of 72 students in the final year of mechanical engineering 3 to 4 students were placed but those companies were also not good, in those 1 or 2 left those jobs and are looking for better job. My college does not not provide any internship therefore no stipend also.
College Events
Every year we had sports day, ethnic day and and an annual day(2day event). Sports day we had indoor games such as carrom, chess, pubg tournaments ,etc Outdoor games were roar, bike dirt race etc Ethnic day we would wear tradtional clothes and celebrate it with selfies etc. Annual day was usually every year 3 hrs of speech by guests, rest would be singing and group dance, solo dance compitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Free structure was fine with 50 thousand of KCET govt fees for engineering and 30 thousand college fees. Almost 80 thousand every year. I was not an hostelite, but hostel fees was around 20 to 30 thousand every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no scholarship facility provided by the college but govt scholarship of OBC and SC/ST was usually applied by us individually, but college took responsibility in sending the documents, and providing status of the scholarship when approved by the govt.
Campus Life
No sports facility in our college its nil. Labs of mechanical department included in the curriculum were there. Lab equipments worked fine 90% of them were working. Other than that no extra curricular activities in the college, during 4 years of my college i have not heard about extra curricular activities.
Alumni/Alumna
There is no such thing as alumni network in our college and we had no much contact with our seniors because our scheme and their scheme were different NON CBCS and CBCS schemes, there were no extra curricular activities to strengthen senior junior relationships. Only thing we did was a farewell to them. Obviously no contact means no help from them.
Admission
Admission to this college is based on state government conducted common entrance test, (KCET- Karnataka common entance test). After my 2nd PUC exam we have to take KCET then after that result will be based on percentage scored in PUC and KCET(scores will be taken proportionately) and rank will be announced, then i had to select colleges of my choice, i was alloted this college then i took by paying KCET fees in the bank and document verification was done in the college and i paid college fees of 20 thousand then i was admitted to this college.
Faculty
Faculties had good theory knowledge and taught the curriculum almost 70% of it other 30% was studied for the sake of examination by us. Faculties during 2015-19 were Mtech graduates of mechanical engineering, Now the college has only PHD graduates as the faculties.
