Days at IIT Patna

IIT Patna is an institute of national importance and it withhold it's standards in comparison to other IITs.Being a new IIT studnets can very easily approach faculties for any help in academics as well as to present thier innovative ideas. Management is also easily approachable so studnets don't have to wait long if they need assistance from management side.

Course curriculum is same as Older IITs . In first year students of all branches have to study common paper mostly basic science like physics, chemistry and maths. After first year you get to study as per your branch. Syllabus is designed in such a way that you gather skilss which of utmost important in Industrial job. Each year is divided into two semesters. In wash semester we have one mid-semester exam and one end semester exam.Every now and then we have to give surprise qizes as well.

In IIT Patna internship is an credit course and every student must join an internship program to pass 3rd year. College manages internship programme for students by inviting companies. A student can also join an internship program on his/her own given that it's of two month duration. Placement statistics are also good. Several companies like microsoft, Amazon, cisco etc visit campus for recruitment. Most of the students gets placed. Package offered by these companies is also decent.

Various fests and events are organised by different clubs of students throughout the year. We have our annual fest named Anwesha which is organised mostly in mid Feb each year. Anwesha is one of grand fest organised which is celebrated for 3 days. Several other fests are also organised like Nebula, clesta etc.

During my period i.e 2012-16 fee was feasible and affordable for most of the students. Banks also provided loans for economically weak students. Fee for each semester was ?25000 tuition fee, ? 15000 mess fee and a few thousands for other miscellaneous expenses. But after 2015 tuition fee were hiked dramatically. And fee got expensive after 2105.

Scholarship is provided to economically weaker students. There are various scholarships one can apply for. Merit cum scholarship is provided from college. Along with that SC and ST students can apply for Central government scholarships which are very good. Every student is eligible for only one scholarship at a time. There are multiple banks in campus which provides loan facilty to students with minimal documents.

Students at IIT Patna can participate in various extracurricular activities as per their interest, be it sports or academics. Sports infrastructure is well developed on the campus and studnets participate in various sports activities. IIT Patna also participated in Inter IIT sports meet where various sports tournaments are organised and students of all IITs participate in it. In terms of academics IIT Patna is equipped with state of art laboratories which is open to all the studnets at all the time , given that they have prior permission from concerned HOD of the department.

In IITs every student is required to stay in Hostel of college only. Since IIT Patna is relatively new college it's infrastructure is still developing. But as per strength of the students infrastructure is good enough with sufficient facilities like fooding, playgrounds, medical etc. Various other infrastructure projects are still under progress. We have various sports infrastructure as well like open stadium, volley ball court, lawn tennis court, badminton court, gym with latest equipment. There is one hospital on camous to cater medical needs of studnets and others.

IIT Patna has strong alumni network. There is a dedicated department to manage alumni relations. These alumni are very helpful to junior students be it crowd funding projects for which college administration cannot provide funds.

I got into this college by qualifying famous IIT-JEE entrance examination. This entance exam was considered to be one of the toughest entrance exam in India. Colleges and branch are allotted as per your priorities as well as All India rank secured by candidate.

Being a new IIT faculty student ratio is mich better as compared to older IITs. Faculties are also upto standards of old IITs and they are approchable. Innovative ideas are greatly encouraged by professors in our college. If you come up with some innovative ideas you can walk straight into their cabin and put you idea on the table. If it's good enough they will support it.
