Remarks

Positive remark- The campus is very beautiful naturally, and is peaceful. Negative remark - The campus is in a remote location (separated from plains) , and it's situated in a village where most of the shops get closed by 7 PM, so it may be difficult for a student who belongs to a city to adjust here. Also, there is a single highway that connects it to the outer world, and the road sometimes gets blocked due to landslides which are very frequent during rainy season, so sometimes transportation becomes difficult.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement here is very good, especially for branches like CSE and ECE. There are a plenty of companies, like Microsoft, Shell, Ericsson etc., with maximum package offered as 11.5 LPA. No, the college does not provide any internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee can be considered expensive - given that it's a private engineering college, that too from Manipal Group of Institutions. But considering the placements and the facilities provided, it's worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is some waiver in fee for student who scored good in either 12th boards or JEE Mains (the waiver was upto 25%, depending on the marks scored). And if the student scored more than 90% in 12th board exams, and/or good marks in mains (depending upon the cutoff of that particular year), he or she may get 100% off on the course fee, only having to pay for the hostel and the mess. However, they need to maintain a CGPA of 8 without any disciplinary case against them through the course.

Campus Life

4.5

There are plenty of labs here, with latest equipments and proper tools. There is a sports complex, called Marena, which has a basketball court, a lawn tennis court, a gym, a swimming pool, badminton court, table tennis room, yoga room, meditation room, snooker and chess rooms. The gym and swimming pool have trained instructors.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostels here have option for either single seater room or sharing room with one other person. We have 24/7 hot water, regular room services, night canteen, cool drinking water, laundry service(on payment basis) etc. available currently. We are provided with a single bed, a mattress and a pillow, a cupboard, study table and chair, a shelf, attached washrooms, a drying room for drying clothes. We are also given bucket, mug and one bedsheet with pillow cover during the time of admission.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network here is widely spread among different companies and fields. There is also an annual alumni meet that's held in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon etc so that people can reach there easily. The seniors here are very helpful and they guide us whenever we ask them for any help. The campus is completely ragging free, and the interactions between seniors and juniors are very common and not forced for either of them.

Admission

I filled the online application form and gave the SMIT offline test. There were basic questions from 12th Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and there were basic English questions. Questions were of Multiple Choice type and there was no negative marking. After successfully passing the test, there was admission process for which I had to come to the college. For admission, there was first branch selection process, in the order of the marks obtained in the test. After that there was fee payment process (either lumpsum or two installments).

Faculty

3

The faculty here are very helpful and friendly. They understand the problem of each student very well and try their best to help the students. They also are open for learning from the students if they themselves are not aware about a certain topic.

Placement is overall good here. Students from ece/eee are better placed than cse here. Here, companies like nvedia, apple has given the highest package. Previous year highest package is 55 lakh ,which had given to two students from eee branch. This year highest package is 35 lakh . Which is offered by two students. I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
