Remarks

All positives. The college has lush green gardens and trees all around. The environment is peaceful and serene. The place is lovely with access to all facilities like restaurants, saloons, stationary shops, etc. But the only disadvantage is that it is far from the railway station and bus stand thus cost a lot for transportation. Besides that everything else is fine. And yes, BTech students get a lot of holidays.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is as per the GATE entrance exam. All the important topics are taught. Placement wise also the topics are really helpful. The course curriculum is well designed. Every year has 2 semesters. Each semester has 2 examinations, the midsem examination of 30% weightage for each theory paper and end semester examination of 50% weightage for each theory paper. Remaining 20% is upto the professor who teaches the course. He may give marks based on class performance or class tests or viva or project which completely depends upon the professor's choice. Every semester has atmost 3 laboratory courses. There is evaluation in almost all the lab classes based on the task given then and there itself during the laboratory class.

Placement Experience

5

Yes, my college is one of the top colleges for engineering in India. Almost 100% of the students who opt for placements get placed. Around 130+ companies come for placements. With an average package of 6lpa across all branches and 10lpa for CS department. My college offers selective internships for meritorious students from other institutions. Since the internships are research based so rit depends upon the professor under whom we do internship.

College Events

5

Yearly 3 fests are celebrated in our college. The biggest techno-management fest of eastern India, INNOVISION is celebrated in the month of November. Various workshops, exhibitions, guest lectures, technical events, competitions, fun activities and celebrity nights are conducted over the first weekend of November.NITRUTSAV is the cultural fest that is celebrated in the spring season. It mainly focuses on music, art, dance, literary activities, fun events, workshops, exhibitions and all. It's main attraction is the celebrity night in which a nationally famous singer comes and performs for 2 hours. Basically a concert. The third fest is the Cosmopolitan fest. It's a multi ethnic fest. Students belonging to different zones of the country as well as the the Foreign students who come for education perform drama, dance and singing. And there are competitions based on these. Fashion shows and rampwalks are also a part of this fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is quite a bit expensive but the facilities here remain unmatched. There are options to avail fee concessions for backward community students and lower income group students as it is a central government funded Institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loans are available from any organisation you want to take. The college is open to accept study loans. There is a bank inside the campus that offers loans. Besides that you can also opt for any other banks that you want to get loan from. Scholarships are not provided directly by the government but some other organisations help you to get so.

Campus Life

4.5

The extra-curricular activities are always welcome in my college. Different clubs are there in my college under 4 societies of the student activity centre. Technical clubs, sports clubs, film and music clubs and finally the literary clubs. Interested students can join these clubs and all the clubs actively work all the time.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are really good and well maintained. There are 11 halls of residence with 2 of them dedicated for girls, 7 for boys and 2 for married couples. All the hostels have well equipped gyms, entertainment halls, common rooms, playing areas,. Gardens etc.

Alumni/Alumna

We have an alumni organisation called as NITRAA which helps maintain alumni relations with the college. They help in getting placements and also conduct various activities and workshops in our college to help in the success of the college. Every year they organise a meet for the alumni. NITRAA is really helpful.

Admission

There will be Jee main exam. Based on the rank you score and previous year cut offs you can know if you are eligible for NIT Rourkela or not. So you can apply for as many branches as possible in the JoSAA counselling round. After 7 rounds of counselling your seat will be confirmed.

Faculty

4

Faculty is highly qualified and we'll experienced. Apart from a few guys most of them share a good rapport with the students and also teach in a way which students can understand. They clear doubts and open for discussion. Basically they are friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs
